Just throwing this out there for people to try. For those of you who consistently sit at 70-75 on the motorway in 6th gear, try doing a tank in 5th. I never use 6th as my car is more efficient at 70 in 5th. Possibly this is why I'm getting better results.

I have heard this from someone else, however I don't do enough motorway driving to really put it to use. Worth a try though.

ENGINE: PD 170 Manual 09
MODS: Stage 1 remap 200BHP (DPF still on)
MPG: 40+ around town, 50 on a run -keeping it at 70/75

My Golf gttdi

With turbo back non res milltek and s3 intercooler fitted running 219bhp,
Mpg does 55 to the motor way but if you drive it hard then it does bout 40

Same car running stage 1 hybrid, on a good day over 60mpg driving steady 55mph on A road with optimum temps. Driven hard, As Andy said about 40mpg

The benefits of a hybrid....hopefully people will start fitting the Darkside Dev 2260 turbo kits soon to realise some proper power and MPg :)

spending 2.4k for that kit is unjustified

today driving at 120km/h 75mph cruise control got 5.5% or 51.3mpg uk
at 130 or 80mph it gives me 6.1-6.3liters or 45mpg instant on the bc

after i get to half tank , indicator drops really fast :(

1185 for the kit, excluding map and labour. Not bad for a stable 300+ hp and I'm guessing over 450lb/ft.

Going stg2+ on a petrol is quite a bit more than that so really it's a bargain.

To get a straight fit though dont you also need to get a manifold and front pipe bumping up price to 2k?

Custom manifold comes with it as well as downpipe/DPF pipe. May need the actuator for the turbo, which is 200 or so?
Should mount directly on most cars apparently.

Also take into account you will need the clutch doing £700 and injectors at £700 on top of that quote and fitting

Stock injectors are fine apparently.
Clutch does indeed need changing.

But still...even if it is 2.4k in total with labour...that's still right on par with "normal" petrol tuning costs. (Fuel pump, cat, tip, map, air intake, intercooler, clutch, etc etc)

1185 is without the turbo :)
add the turbo and it's 2400 with vat

there is no point in spending all those money on a diesel imo
