Could get my turbo converted in to stage 3 at a cost of £800 which will be about 250bhp so might do that yet

Engine: PD140 BKD 2006 (56)
MODS: egr delete, stock I/C, uprated clutch stage 2 TD hybrid.
MPG: 46 when in OAP mode. ;)

Those moaning about the costs of doing higher power mods properly need to think about going back to driving Fords. :p

+1

That's why I haven't gone any further, but I don't complain :) hehe

I don't complain as such, it's just in my eyes @ around 215 bhp & with the relatively small weight of the Leon I expected more than 40/41 mpg that's all.

And to add insult to injury I don't really drive my car hard @ all, maybe the odd spirited drive but nothing over the top, with the current outside temps @ around 4c my long term mpg average is stuck @ around 41 mpg...

my 1700kg passat from 2009 CR engine was doing 53mpg , so i would expect the leon driven in the same way to do close to 50 but it doesnt happen even driven like an old lady
for now i am below 45

Is the Leon just not that aero dynamic? It does look like it is to me but I'm not sure what cd coefficient is. I thought I'd be getting more mpg on gentle drives with standard spec.

I could drive my old pd100 Golf how I liked and cruised at 0.9 leptons and still achieve at least 48, if not 50. I feel with the Leon I really have to nanny it to get 48mpg. A lot more oomph, bigger turbo and injectors obviously equate to some of the difference but 70 vs 90 cruise is a big difference in wind resistance alone.

Doesn't bother me a great deal but reading the forums and seeing owner reviews on
330is doing around 38mpg on a run makes me think!

PD170 standard form.

Around town, just normal steady driving, 30-40mph zones - 38-42mpg

Motorway 70-75mph seeing 44-48mpg

I use Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate.

Engine: 184 TDI in MK3 SC
Mods: DTUK CRD-T giving 230bhp/490nm
MPG: 45-50 mixed and 65mpg at 70mph

So almost every Fr 170 has about 220bhp Remapped? how are your clutches? as i was thinking of pushing 220 off a remap, as its custom, but was worried about the turbo, and clutch etc... its done 65000 miles ?

as standard remap is 210bhp, i would have thought the torque would kill the clutch at 220bhp unless you limit the torque

Cheers

Nar dont believe all the hype, i believe that a "Stage1" gives around 195 bhp

Stage2 with Dpf delete can be had @ upto 230 bhp ( butt you'd have lots of smoke )

Mines @ around 215bhp ( not much smoke )

As to clutch time will tell gulp.....

784km to reserve light, pulled over and put 54 liters into the tank , that gives me 6.91l/100km or 40.9 MPG uk
that's just shi7
and i drove it as nice as possible
