Oh and I'm still going to hold you on your word regards taking me out in your motor :p

Little update on the Cupra, After the BCS fitment my clutch has decided it's had enough with the power she's running

Under hard acceleration in 4th and 5th it's slipping at high revs. This obviously isn't down to anything that BCS has done as I don't want people to get the wrong impression and think oh I'm not going there. Also not down to R-Tech either.

It's purely down to the extra power going through a clutch that isn't designed for my current figures and at the end of the day I'm the one who decided to do the above two upgrades.

If I'm honest you'd have to be a fool to think that at some point the clutch isn't going to give up.

As most of you will know it's a lottery in terms of how much a standard clutch can take. Some people are running 2+ with no issues yet and others like myself stage 1 then having problems.

My car has now turned 46K and as far as I'm aware it's still the original clutch.

Anyhow being in this situation I've been doing an awful lot of ringing around, searching and asking fellow SCN members for there help and advice.

So a big thank you to everyone who has done this I really appreciate it ;). To name a few big lee m,richicupra,Toosmiles,Crafoo, markrich, Alex at AKS, Pete at Demon performance,Kris at samtech performance,Justin at euro car parts.

In the end i decided that the best setup for me would be a LUK DMF with new bolts, Helix uprated clutch plate and cover + a new release bearing. All of these have been supplied by Alex at AKS and will be with me tomorrow.

All in the parts have cost £735 this is a lot of money but for what I'm getting is an excellent price.

I'll update with some pics tomorrow. Sorry to go on but wanted to explain fully my situation and what has been done to sort it out.

Cheers all

Craig

Hope you get it all sorted Craig, and the car will probably feel the better for it, even if your wallet doesn't.

Thank you mate cheers ;)

Lol yeah my wallet won't agree but as you say my Cupra should love it :D

Oh well at least I've put the stepping stone down for if i want to go stage 2 in the future and if I don't I'm safe in the knowledge that it will handle anything I throw at it.

That's the best way to look at it.

The exhausts looks a work of art, are you planning on a map tweek since having it fitted or maybe add a hpfp then another visit to r tech ?

Really pleased with it,once I've ran in the Helix I want to go back on R-Tech's rollers just for a health check and to see what she's running.

Niki may adjust the map to suit whilst I'm there but it isn't necessary.

If later down the line I feel the urge for more power then yes it will have to be a Loba pump and possibly RS4 valve plus another R-Tech visit:p

Either way it's all fun ha ha

Bloody hell mate. Your not messing around are you?
How long before theres a HPFP and RS4 valve on its way to Sandbach ;)

A local meet sounds good to me.

Matt.

Same clutch kit as i have in mine and im running stage one as well.
Just be prepared for quite a heavy clutch pedal you get used to it though but for me it can be a pain as I dont drive it all week as i drive a van all week and come the weekend my clutch takes 5 minutes or so to get used to again.
I had a slipping clutch for quite a while before i got a new clutch and i didnt realise how much power i was missing out on untill after the new one was fitted.

Sorry to hear about the clutch mate, but at least you did one thing and make sure it was set in stone nothing to do with any trips else where, bar wear and tear and too much strain on it from what you have already! :)

Definitely can't wait to hear how the little beauty runs with a new clutch in place! =)

Yeah I've been told that they are heavier than oem but not to the point that it's annoying. Like you say I will get used to it, as she's a daily driver it shouldn't take long.

Are you happy with the set up mate?

Cheers Lee, yeah I wanted to make it absolute clear that it was my choice to put the power through standard running gear. As people can take things the wrong way sometimes :)

Looking forward to seeing the video Nige did as it sounded immense as she came up the road

Yeah Im really happy with my clutch set up i was a little dissapointed with the bedding in time but it doesnt bother me that much as it feels far superior to how it did.

That's great cheers mate, yeah not looking forward to the running in stage! But the bonus is once done she will feel like a rocket ship after a few weeks of steady driving
