That is stunning, wheels suit it really well, and the car looks brand new!

Just a very quick update,

Might give others an idea since i always thought it looked a bit too polished,

theyre just oem pads, and the discs were ebay specials!,

the bottom arms were shot, just with oem replacements the cars so much tighter, doesnt squirm on boost or tramline no where near as much as it used to,

Still yet to do the cam chain tensioner gasket and half moon set, just havent had time,

Blueflame 100 cell is on, new mikalor clamps and a general clean up of all the bolts and underpinnings wirebrushed & protected etc,

the difference between the 100 cell and stock downpipe is night and day, generally low end torque, ECU seems to be pulling the timing slightly at full tilt, but all i can put that donw to is cheap fuel again, on 98/99 it very rarely pulls timing, Possibly need to let the ecu adapt too,

& wayne yeah nice catch up mate, when the weather picks up we'll have to get a few together for a few beers!, still got your number if its the same one!

Very nice motor pal, I'm only two weeks into 'Leon ownership' but have a real OCD when it comes to my cars and I must say if i can get my Platinum grey cupra as fresh looking as yours I'll be a happy man haha. Mine a completely standard 180 with 65k and full stamped up history etc so its a good starting point for what I'm hoping to achieve.:D

Ha you sound like me 3 years back!, I know exactly what you mean, I was contemplating selling before christmas and getting something newer, but nothing came close, i know the car head to toe and in all honesty its never let me down, If anything im the one thats ended up damaging something!,

bought with 37k ish, now on 80k, i checked play in the turbo shaft when the downpipe was off and its not got an ounce of lateral or throw wear,

it'll look after you if you look after it!,

On a side note, New one to the list, door handles laquer is peeling! time for a respray!

http:// Thats mine as i got it, not bad but always room for improvement as far as shine goes, really like the red ones but there is a few about in my area, including one on my street, so when i spotted this i had to have it, thats my old mk3 GTI behind it which was sold last weekend but was a cracking car but had to go to make way for the Cupra!

looks very tidy & to be fair mk1 facelifts arent very common in that condition anymore, many have been tinkered with or in a sorry state, enjoy it mate!

I didnt start doing bits and bobs for a good 18 months, i said id keep it standard, id done the whole fast & furious scene back in the day!, its all about OEM plus now,

tempted to map it?

Yeh been tempted but just leaving it standard for now, my GTI was 16yr old and was completely standard, which is a bloody rare thing, i used to be into the whole tuning scene, with a few mk2 GTI's and a few motors with daft blue oval badges, but then i bought a one owner mk2 golf that was a one owner completely standard car that was mint and i got the bug for originality. But i suppose things could change, but for now I'm just gonna get it gleaming with a few subtle improvements:)

Right just a little feedback

since mating the 2"5 blueflame 100cell to the scorpion 2"5 ive ran a few Liquid gauge results,

before Downpipe 221 bhp - 245Lb ft

after downpipe 228bhp - 264lb ft,

the torque is my biggest shock, i didnt even realise how restrictive the stock down pipe was!

lovely car mate,

i think it needs the wing mirror doing black now to match the black roof (if not already done)

any more stuff planned like a re-map etc?
