My 2003 leon cupra

fair play that is a well looked after car. mine needs some tlc and mine is a mk1 2001 model befor facelift but i have the front bumper from a facelift. but mines onvi yellow and the bumpers have suffered paint fade slightly so to get a good showroom look its a respray. but i like you want to keep the car oem looking but go like a train.

keep up the good work and the logs on the befor and after downpipe are impressive. i recently done the downpipe and de-cat and the difference like you say is noght and day and now i see why lol.

The only reason Ive sprayed the roof myself was the fact its satin & Ive had quite a bit of previous experience trialing with rattle cans in the past,

No that im overly proud of it, but my old 2002 stilo was my guinea pig- please note this was a good 6-7 years back, and at the time fitted the scene- im expecting a roasting!! we live and learn!,

the satin black bonnet was a trial at the time, & it fitted well so followed the same route,

lets just say the modifying has become far more sublte as ive got older, & Oem with a little + is my goal from now on,

cheers guys,

latest update, Ive stuck 4x NGK Brk6e plugs in since it keep pulling the timing on full tilt, less on 99 but still obvious, yet to take it for a decent run but it was due a new set of plugs, the original plats were still at .28  coppers now gapped to .30 hopefully this will cure the retarded ignition since the coppers shoud dissipate the heat quicker thak the plats for a mild tune,

watch this space!:D

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Bet you can't decide which one to take out each day?!!

If its any distance we take the TDi for obvious reasons (55mpg reasons) but if its me nipping to the shops or about local or if i just fancy a blast out I take the 20vt, she doesnt like hers driven hard, saying that we had a little bit of a race on the road up by the golf course up near Lillyhall when we were going up to fill them both up at BP (Ultimate of course);)

Christ, must cost a fortune running on ultimate x 2 cars. You always get a warm feeling though that you've treated your car to something special, even of its another £5 to fill up!

+1 ^ i fill up using v power or bp 99 and ok it 10p per litre more but i get pretty much the same miles to every time i fill up. if anything over a full tank i would say i get 30 miles more on v-power than standard 95 so thats £5 more for 30 miles which actually works out better for me. not sure its the same for everyone but thats my honest imput. ill always use btter fuel as its not costing me more in the long run what so ever.

Logically I've found running 99 / vpower/ ultimate on a 20vt is well worth it, and to be fair the engine was theoretically designed to run on 98 Ron , if it's affordable I'd recommend it over 95 on a 1.8t,

As for the copper plugs, it drives smoother, seems more progressive And its made the exhaust note less boomy, and correction factors 0.0 on the liquid gauge, so a win win.

Bit of an update,

9.3 Years old, 81k miles,

Today it flew through its 4th MOT in my ownership with no advisories or issues,

100Cell race cat and emissions ran,

1021..... lambda (limit 970-1030),

37ppm Hydrocarbon (limit 200),

0.031 C mono (limit 0.200)

HID HEADLIGHTS

passed with aftermarket non adjustable HID lights too, i even asked and its not a fail, documentation mentions where fitted washers & levellers must work- if theyre not fitted, its not applicable, its beam pattern 7 level that matters and it passed both...

happy much!
