Morning all!

My boot has recently stopped opening, or indeed unlocking. The fault is intermittent and whenever I take it to the dealer, it works fine!

Has anyone else experienced this?

When I am eventually able to open the boot, I have to flick the locking mechanism at the base of the boot, and this then allows me constant access but I am sure there is a fault.

All opinions and comments welcome please!

I've not had this exact problem but my missus had an issue once with the bonnet catch on her Audi A4 (old model). It wouldn't 'reset' itself after you opened the bonnet, so when you attempted to close the bonnet it would already be in the closed position and hence just crashed against the metal loop thing... not good. I think it just required some careful use of WD40 in the end.

I hope yours is equally easy to sort out! ;)

Its very intermittent but ironically, only fails when I'm at the airport and actually need the boot! I'm assuming from the lack of responses that this is not a common fault.

Just had this on mine ages ago it did it intermittently as yours did and would not do it for the dealers- recently did it and was found to be the (canbus controlled) solenoid which was replaced under warranty. I think there is an issue with water ingress to the area as it all looked a bit green around the connectors. There is also something about the fault which senses when the boot is full or needs to be-mine finally went kaput when I was on a weekend away to Norfolk with daughter and two friends-who had packed for a months holiday
