My car can "cure" itself !

Yesterday on a long drive back from Somerset to London, my EPC light came on. Did a search and the usual things it can be is the brake light sensor or clutch pedal sensor, along with a few other things. Driving home tonight, giving it the beans abit, and it on the last 2miles of the journey(cool down time), the light, all by itself, just went off!

Any ideas why? Im going to get her VAG'com'd next week, but could it be a lose wire connection or something?

The ecu must of seen a fault say a missfire (not saying it was that) but to get the engine light on the ECU has to see so many missfires in one cylinder to turn it on (let say 300 times) if then the engine stops missfiring and runs fine period of time the ECU will see that there is no missfire in that cylinder and turn the light off!

Thats prob whats happened not saying the fault is a missfire it could be anything it just the ECU thinks its ok and working fine now

Ah ok i see, thanks for the info MIkey. EML light has been on for ages, but thats a common fauly, SAI, incorrect flow, had it cleared so many times and it just keeps coming back, will get rid of it one day!

lol same thing happened to me a month back... light came on one day ... i was well upset... i thought i would raise enouhg money to get the stuff sorted... i never got it diagnoised though...then one day.. it disssappeared...!! woohoo!!!

haha i know...result! My car has mysterious self healing qualities! Love it!
