the ECU uses sensors to to control different parts of the car for instance the lamber (oxy) sensors they read the exhaust fumes and use the info to tell the ECU how much air and fuel to mix ;) they are very smart complex things lol

And thats just one of its jobs :cartman:

I stick with, It fix's stuff [B)]

as for the car going slower.
quite afew people have boost leak problems,
due for a service? can make afew hp difference
running decent fuel?

there only one diesle jack ;) lol :p

i reckon its a boost leak you can make your own tester of book it in to be checked out AMD will be able to sort it out;)

Some say bp and shell are completely different to supermarket. But hey what do I know I have petrol (not for long tdi ibiza soon with any luck)
Also check see if the air filter is nice and clean too. As if it is badly clogged up then this will make your car run not 100%

In relation to this guys. Been out in the car tonight. Booted it in 2nd foot to the floor and no wheel spin. Felt quite quick but it's always spun in 2nd. Barely even spun in 1st. I had done about 8 miles on the motorway 1st so tyres were probably warm but still..... does this sound odd?

No, Shell do a V-Power Diesel now too.

Could be a boost leak but I'd have thought the engine warning light would come on and a fault code to do with "air leak between turbo and throttle" as the description.

I've got a million boost leaks and got no codes at all ;) and I stand corrected about the diesel :) lol

A boost leak (or several leaks) would have to be serious enough to cause the measured boost pressure to be significantly different from the requested before throwing a fault code, I'd have thought if the car was feeling significantly down on power and a boost leak was the cause then there would be a code. Could be wrong but not convinced it's a boost leak.

Well I peak at 17 and within 2 seconds it's dropped past 10 me thinks that a pretty bad leak tbh and I can feel the power loss ;) I should hold about 15 and managed to sort of bodge it on saterday and my god was it different ;)

Clutch not slipping to my knowledge. It's not that it even feels That sllw. Just a bit. But Why's it not spinning? No lights on either

might not be spinning because the tyres have less psi in so grip the road more?

Just give it all a good checking over:
Tyres
Filters
See if all pipes going to the turbo are connected well
may aswell check the fluid levels while your at it

Unplug the MAF and drive the car, does it drive better/same/worse? (you will get a dashboard warning light but don't worry about it)

Could be loads of things!! Its just a case of trying different things and taking it from there.

Where and what's the maf? What should tyres be? 32? Fluid levels goid. Wouldn't know what pipes to check and have no idea how and what to check for in filters

There's other possible reasons for that. Could be that 17 and 10 are all the ECU is requesting, in which case actual is meeting requested. Log it on VAGCOM to check.

As I said managed to slightly bodge it and it held 15 been tryin to get some logs for ages but my mates Neva fee to do it :(

If I got a boost gauge fitted would this help me identify even if there was a problem? Also that picture looks like a petrol engine. Remember im talking about diesel through this.

It's the same on diesel as petrol not the lay out but the maf looks the same a boost gauge will help you identify a boost leak yes
