I've put the hose on properly now, given it sum stick and it's fine.

I was only jokin when i said about taking the pipe off!!!

I met someone at guildford who had a Golf 1.8t with waste gate chatter. He said all he done was fitted an induction kit. But was a bit shy about it. He obviously done this!!!

also chatters when your DV is ****ed

people will read that mate and do it, honestly, hence why i put it in bit writing

wastegate chatter is very bad for turbo's will detinate if you didnt sort it

I have only just seen this thread!

I was happy to help! It did miff me slightly although that point when i put my foot down in second i did think it probably had something on it

It wouldnt be a Cupra R ECU as they peak at about 10 psi (as i said last night) but there is something secret on there ;)

I suppose the best thing is to see what it runs at the Rolling Road Day

Thats exactly what i'm now waiting for!!! I'm putting in a boost gauge. And i mite get the exhaust but i won't do anything else to it until the rolling road.

Well if it's not a Cupra R ECU, It's not a Chip as the ECU looks Standard and untouched so it's got to be a remap.

Ian said my actuator is fine. But could it be that this has been touched thats why it's boosting more as i know the RS TURBO boys love adjusting the actuator to get more boost!!!!

Well the dump valve is fine as it was the standard one from IAn's car as i broke mine taking the top Vac hose off to get the boost gauge fitted. It was just because that pipe popped off as i didn't put it back on properly!!! I really aint a mechanic!!!!! Plus everything was so bloody hot i'm a bit of a pansy when it come to burning my self!!!!!

I would leave it as it is and see what you get on the Rolling Road! Its up to you of course but would be good to see what power its got now

What do you mean it looks untouched? Surely if its just a 'flash map' then it wont look any different?

Did he think he was in the standard position? It looked like it had been turned a couple more as should sit central if standard?

Sorry i meant the ECU hasn't been taken apart as all the standard seals are still in place meaning it hasn't had a chip put in.

I asked Ian about my actuator and he just said it looks normal.

its not gonna look any different chipped either really...other than maybe abit of sealant hanging off although most 'chippers' wont even bother trying so it'll look completely normal visually it'll be hard to tell if the seals in pieces untill you open it yourself

its just a shame really you dont have much idea about it cos that would help you to know what to do next. where you get it from? they tell you nothing about it?

I brought it for 6k from a dealer in Ripley, 1 lady owner from new, FSSH, Interior is Mint, Everything standard. Well thats wot i was told and wot i had thought until i raced some friends looked at figures and realised mine couldn't be standard!!!

The rear box fell of in the first 2 weeks so my thoughts were that someone had a different box on it and stuck the standard one on to sell.

Yeah although i still dont think you would see much if it was just a 'flash map'

I would say its normal then if thats what Ian says ;)

I agree with acid! It must be SO annoying not knowing but its not often that women do get things like this done to cars

Its funny because i would never have gone to that garage thinking there was an Ibiza Cupra for sale! Had they had it in for a while?

I wonder if its like you said on Tuesday, registered in someones name but 'the son' drove it?

It has driven me crazy. No stickers, Engine cover was on, everything where it's meant to be!!!

Well that garage do sports / prestige. He had a few Clio 172's, golf gti's etc, There is 3 sellers in that one garage!!!

The bloke i brought it off was a d**K, But i didn't find this out until things weren't going right.

Ian said the way the boost peaked then dropped would indicate it's not a KO3s, so it can only be a remap. So atleast i have an idea of what has been done to it.

Can i post my reg no. to see if any1 recognises it???

That is quite interesting. Seems a bit similar. Have too see what i get on the rollers. The thing is the ECU doesn't look like it's ever been touched. The stupid bit of black plastic that is stuck to the top was still on and everything.

But if yours was boosting the same then maybe thats wot has been done. 201bhp seems quite a lot though for just a chip and 14 psi???????
