James congrats we are awaiting our first in the next 2 weeks, you will remember I was looking to change due to this also BUT we did a new A Class for her and decided the LCR was too practical with performance to look to change. The LCR has been a god send with the ikea trips and done me proud!
So at the age of 31 with a baby due in 2 weeks I can honestly say keep the LCR you won't get decent money so no point trading, I intend on a new motor for myself in 2 years but the LCR will be kept and garaged.
P.S get a 3d scan the are amazing
I hope everything goes well with the imminent arrival of your first child. It really is a very exciting but terrifying time... The thought of splitting my time seems a bit overwhelming but I guess that's natural for every parent. You'll finally get to use your Recaro buggy and car seat then...

We're not sure about the 4-D scan, but we have our 20 Wk scan in 2 weeks.
I'm going to be away with work on and off for the next 4 weeks so I've put the car into my newly acquired
garage. It hasn't been washed for about 4 weeks, so I'll wash it when I can, but at least it is in the dry and away from the elements, which is where it is going to stay for the next few months.
As always, I really enjoy tinkering with the car and now with a
garage, the winter work can begin. So, my first step will be to remove the rear beam. The main purpose for this will be to fit the new Powerflex bushes. Whilst it is off, the rear beam will be rubbed down and either painted or powdercoated. The splash backs of the brakes will also be painted. I'll
service the hubs and rear callipers. Maybe they will be repainted too. As the KW shocks were polished the other week, I'm going to have the rear springs and Neuspeed RARB re-powder coated too.
Also, i'm going to remove the rear arch linings and check the state of the inner arches. They're clean, but I may stone chip them along with the underside of the car. It's 9 years old now and when I think about keeping it, I'd want to keep it as rust-free as possible so this seems like an obvious bit of work whilst everything is off and accessible. The fronts would be done too. Then really the rolling stock would be A1. I'm giving myself until Christmas to get this done... Famous last words...
So, has anyone used spray can stone chip?? Any product recommendations would be great. Also I'm going to buy an Eazi bleed kit for the brakes and a brake pipe clamp. Again this is something I've never done so it'll be a learning experience... I'll search for a removal
guide on here.
I guess the direction with all this is to steer the car towards a full respray and making it as nicer an example as it can be considering its age. It'll take a bit of time to get there but that's fine I think, especially with a
garage now. Parting with this isn't what I want. I'll feel my way with time available once our baby arrives. If there's no time available then it might be in storage for a while, or it'll be sold to someone who can drive it/ enjoy it/ look after it as it should be. But for now, it's on with the show...
