i can vouch for this, people on here, no disrespect, i think it was glynnd, said a 130 leon mapped wont match a 150 mapped, but this have been proven incorrect ;)

i was quite impressed with mine last night!!

although you beat me, and i wouldn't have caught up:( dint think mine did that bad considering i only got 150bhp against yours!!

think it shows i need a decent map though!!!!!

Just my point of view,

My bro has a mapped golf 150 tdi, i have a mapped ibiza 130 tdi, both were done at the same place and produced results not a million miles apart. However although the golf is heavier its definately quicker, mainly due to the 130s spool up so quick they cant put the power to the road and they die quickly, the 150's pull right round to the redline. Round twistys would be different but in a straight line the 150 is a bit quicker.

The reason why the PD150 is quicker on the road in a straight line then a PD130 is :
1 ) The PD130 only has a small SMIC which very quickly will heat soak like hell making the car loose power unlike the FMIC on the PD150.
2 ) The PD130 has the smaller KKK KP39 compared to the PD150 that has a larger Garrett GT1749V which is why the PD150 will pull all the way up to the redline where as the KP39 will start to tail off quickly after 4100 rpm.

If you cannot put the power down on a remapped PD130 you either need better tyres or learn how to drive properly.

Not me that said that but I am interested to know how a pd 130 makes 193 hp when most of you say that a pd150 cant make 200hp on a stock turbo.
Correct me if incorrect but the 130 has a smaller turbo than the 150, yes I know strugers has added an fmic which i have already. Surely his motor has not got so many different things on it that it produces the same output as mine?

as said, he has loads more air most probably from fitting a fmic, as the pipes are much bigger and he has removed the pancake pipe aswell ;) which is very restrictive

agreed.

a mapped 130 vs a mapped 150 will result in the 150 winning!

i think. bar other modifications obviously, the 130 will not be able to keep up.. smaller turbo being a key part which tails off quicker and with a heat soaked smic..

could be down to clutch condition, driving style..a mapped 130 muct have had clutch modifications which will give an edge...

but look at it simply..standard 130 wont keep up with standard 150...

map both cars in the same way and i dont see what will change

he got his car mapped at jabba sport at 176bhp and 320 ft lb and since he has put on a green cotton cone, cat back and allard fmic and now its 193.6 and 322ft lb

i think it depends on tuners, for example a mapped 130 leon 185bhp and 320ft lb against a mapped 150 with 185bhp and 315ft lb, depends on where you go i beleive

for example a certain place may be able to get more out of a standard 130 than someone else can get out of a standard 150

Its not just about figures either

Its about how the power is delivered and how smooth and progressive the torque curve is

I agree with what you are saying Scotty but I was told by the guy that mapped my car that the map he had put on was quite aggressive.
I have fmic as std but in the last 30k had new cam, bearings roller rockers, tappets and injector needles, completely cleaned intake manifold and cleaned vnt, green cotton and full stainless. New n75,map sensor coolant sensor and just about all the other things you would replace to improve running, you suggest strugers car makes the same as mine?
Just so you know when i had mine r/r measured I was using millers and v power which i dont use anymore so presume I am running about 195hp

lets not forget the dyno lottery aswell lads!
195 bhp one day...175 the next!

why do people always think dyno lottery, you ever thought the rollers could be under powering, so you might get your car mapped at 176, but it might actually be 185, ever thought about that one

Trust you are being sarcastic Craig as I personally cant see that much difference unless a car has a fault somewhere!
Glynn

im not being sarcastic, people just dont want to accept the fact that a 130 can be mapped to the same as a 150

If the PD130 has a KP39 and the PD150 has a Garret GT1749V even if both cars have the same FMIC,exhaust etc the PD150 will produce more power over a longer rev range due to the simple fact it has a larger turbo charger that can flow more air FACT ! I should have the compressor maps from both turbos on one of my computers that i could post up if you still don`t believe/understand what i am saying.

I tried so hard to stay out of this stupid willy waving thread.
