my new tdi cupra

Xenons and HIDs can glow slightly different colours i believe due to the make up of the gasses. If they're pretty close then its probably fine, but if they're miles different you might be worth getting both bulbs changed and hope they're closer

Did you ever sort the alternator noise? Basically you need to stop the insides from moving while you try and turn the pulley, it should only move one way (one way bearing installed).
Yes you can get a replacement clutch only, you can get them from GSF for about £30 and then you will need a special tool like this one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-ALTERNATOR-CLUTCH-FREE-WHEEL-PULLEY-REMOVAL-TOOL-/310181570394)
The bit that moves loads is the tensioner I think. It just maintains belt tension so it will move a bit, that is normal.
One question if you don't mind, what size are your tyres and what is the recommended pressure for them?
I have a tdi with the starfish alloys (as a modification) but am convinced that my tyres (225/45 17) are too wide.
The car looks really good overall, the door cards look very smart.

yes mate got a new alternator clutch pulley £28.99 GSF all sorted. My tyres are the same, 225.45.17 standard size mate and I put 33 in the front and 30 at the rear as these pd's are heavy on the front end . Thanks very much on the comments mate, yeah loving the leather and the colour, I didn't know it was black magic yeah very sparkly, carbon wrapping the interior door handles tomoz . Mine is only the 110hp tdi but it is still a nice car and fuel consumption is great, I average 54mpg!

If you didn't know, in the boot of your car under the cover (where the spare wheel is) you will find a sticker with loads of codes on it, this tells you a lot about the car including the engine code, gearbox code, paint code etc.
All of the numbers at the bottom of that sticker can be put into online calculators and it lists the specification of your car.

What's your paint code then mate? That's one clean Leon you got there think your concern about the tyres is becoz you have the standard bumpers not the slightly wider cupra ones mate. Will av a look at my codes later, cheers.

Cheers about the car, it is not great and I have had my fair few problems with it.
Doors leaking
Skuttle panel leaking into the car
Cambelt failed
Airbag sensor under the seat got wet and then blew up the airbag control module
passenger door lock failed
discs and pads all round
turbocharger vanes got clogged which puts the engine into limp mode until restart (mr muscle fix)
Thermostat failed twice
AC pump failed
Luckily most of it is sorted now and the car is alright (touch wood).
I have done a bit to the car now though.
Remap (best thing I have done)
Wheels
EGR delete
Intake manifold upgrade from standard 110 to the 150 for improved airflow
Replaced the vacuum lines
Full brake bleed (still not right though)
Rear wiper replaced with a fabia wiper
6K HIDs with a relay wiring loom (stops the flickering)
Time to leave it alone now though. Too much money gone into the car.

I'm looking on getting mine mapped but worried about the clutch slip after done! Wow I can't believe the amount of work you've done on it! Touch Yeah my codes the same lovely colour, Touch wood I bought my car for around a grand and popped a new cambelt on it that's it just cleaned this was great fun NOT!! wanted to sort the inlet as well but looked to scary to take it off

Yeah I had a fair few things go wrong but it seems to be alright now.
My clutch has been fine but I would say my remap is quite light on the clutch initially and the torque comes on more progressively.
I am not sure if it is more difficult on the PD but it is not too bad to do on the VE engine.

Kool well if it's doesn't piss it down tomoz then I'll try the inlet mileage has just hit 84000. Just fitted these as well, super impressed 8000k
