I've wanted to do the interior for ages, but not 100% how to do it, and I can usually work things out lol! Got enough pics to do a guide?, or a list of plastic primer/sprays you used? Looks good, what colour is the roof? I'm going to get mine done black I think, Got a silver/black theme going on.... Pics asap ;)

I do have a few pics but probably not enough to do a guide :(

I'll sort out a list of materials used though :)

My roof is black by the way, it's a sueded material from Dunelm Mill. It is woven but has no elastane meaning no real stretch in the fabric making it a bid awkward to work with at times.

Ahh I see, have you seen my seats in the Leon? You've probably got the same because they came out of a V5 Tol, What do you think a black suede roof would go like with them, or how does it go?

Spray Adhesive, Heat resistant up to 70°C - TrimFix (Get 2)
Covering Material - Nu Suede I got 4m of it, but I do have some other small projects it will be used in.
Black Fabric Paint - Dylon. I used this to re-colour the fabric strip which makes part of the door seal, I wasn't going to pay the daft prices people wanted for the LCR ones! It says iron for 2 mins to make the change permanant, however my heatgun has done the job perfectly :funk:

Paints & Primer:
Plastic Primer - Plastikote. I've used it in the past with great results and didn't disappoint this time around either.
Gloss Black Paint - Plastikote. Again used in the past and have got great results.
I didn't use a lacquer but you can if you like.

Stripping the interior is fairly easy, work from the bottom up and remove everything needed to get the panels for paint and headlining out. Don't be tempted to manfashion the parts out if they appear to be stuck, you may have missed a screw or clip somewhere along the way - Make sure you store any clips, caps, screws etc carefully, I nearly lost the internal switch from one of the ultrasonic units from rushing about
Take lots of photos of how things go together. I took all of my B-Pillar trims apart to paint the seatbelt adjusters and took my lights apart to make sure paint got into all the little nooks and crannies. Just a little tip - use candle wax to lubricate the backs of the painted switches, the painted surfaces can stick together which is a proper ballache.

Prep is VERY important!
I cleaned all of my plastics with hot soapy water, rinsed well, dried and gave a final wipe down with panel wipe to give the best surface for the primer to stick to.

I used 2 coats of primer per panels followed up with 3 coats of the gloss black. I let the primer dry properly before painting to be safe.
Make sure you are painting in a warm, clean and ventilated space for best results and a decent curing time for the paint.

Ummm that's all I can think of tonight. I'll update this tomorrow after work as I'll have forgotten to add something.

This is a really good guide, cheers! I will give it a go eventually I think! Did you stick the suede to the existing roofliner? Straight onto the old one?

Yep, I just glued the fabric to the existing headliner. I did think about stripping it down to the backing board but didn't want it to loose too much substance, plus the PU foam would be a ballache to remove properly without damaging the backing board.

Here you go Damo, I managed to get you a pic today of the roof.

Haha, no copyright on it at all Damo :D feel free to copy it if you should wish. Most people don't notice it at first, but when they do they do like it.

Joshy - It's the standard Seat Satnav aerial base that came from factory, truth be told mine isn't looking so good these days so could do with a new one as well :(

Thing is, I want to do the bonnet as well to cover some marks and chips.
Wondering if it would be overkill tho?
Might try it and see.
Cheers
Damo

Yeah could do.
Where did you get your vinyl from?
And the wind deflectors, are they toledo specific or Leon?
Sorry for the 20 questions
Cheers
Damo

I got the vinyl from EBay, I'll look up the seller for you when I get back from work. The wind deflectors are the Heko ones for the Leon but the Tolly has the same door so fit just fine :)

Ask all the questions you want mate, glad I can be of help :)

-=EDIT=-

I got the vinyl from here Damo
