with regards to the ariel base, I had to buy a new one from my dealer and it was supposed to be £350!!!
After a bit of bargaining managed to get it for £60 but beware, theyre expensive :). Apparently they fill with water and that can ruin them so the recomended thing to do is to fill it with silicone :).

P.S Loving the car! love the stance of the car :)

£350!!?!?! Sod that! I'll have to try and find a replacement somewhere else. Mine hasn't filled up with water and works fine, it's just a bit crusty :(

You'll have to try and make it to Ultimate Dubs in march and have a proper look at it :D

So the BBS RSII's have gone away

They will be coming back though :funk:

I've also fitted the rear calliper release springs from an Alhambra to stop that damn mooing noise when reversing.

Nothing wrong with the Cades, but I've loved the RSII's since I first saw them. When I saw Arun had a set for sale I couldn't say no ;)

I will be keeping the Cades as dailies/winters though as I love the dish on them :D

Fair enough mate, have always liked the LMs but would never have the money for them and now that I have my Cades on I really like the slightly more modern shape of the spokes. Glad you're keeping them though :)

Plus I've spent so long polishing my nuts, would be a shame not to show them off

Giggity!

So I think it's about time for a post UD update:)

It was good to meet you guys and we need to get to some more shows! Sorry I took off early but was going out for a birthday meal with the family

So as some of you saw the RSII's are finished and on :D So happy with them despite the delays!

But first things first... Roofbars, don't worry they aren't a scene thing. They've been fitted to carry bikes and boards.

Then I got fed up of the Aux in cable hanging out of the OBDII port so when in doubt, rip it out ;)

You can see the new Aux in port above the airbag switch in the glovebox.

Then the RSII's arrived, too impatient to wait I opened them up at work... and it was love at first sight

The drop from the smaller profile tyres is causing the subframe and undertray a bit of grief though

Liking what you did with the Plastikote on the upper pillar trim panels Matt, you got any interior pictures? :)

Any plans to do the lower halves of the doors or the dashboard?

Thanks guys :D The next show for me is GTI springfest on 14th of April if you're interested in coming? There's a load from UK-Mk4's going :)

I was planning on going mate, either that or Early Edition??,i went to springfest last year and the turn out was pretty poor so was thinking i might go to Edition as ive heard its a better show:)

Spray Adhesive, Heat resistant up to 70°C - TrimFix (Get 2)
Covering Material - Nu Suede I got 4m of it, but I do have some other small projects it will be used in.
Black Fabric Paint - Dylon. I used this to re-colour the fabric strip which makes part of the door seal, I wasn't going to pay the daft prices people wanted for the LCR ones! It says iron for 2 mins to make the change permanant, however my heatgun has done the job perfectly :funk:

Paints & Primer:
Plastic Primer - Plastikote. I've used it in the past with great results and didn't disappoint this time around either.
Gloss Black Paint - Plastikote. Again used in the past and have got great results.
I didn't use a lacquer but you can if you like.

Stripping the interior is fairly easy, work from the bottom up and remove everything needed to get the panels for paint and headlining out. Don't be tempted to manfashion the parts out if they appear to be stuck, you may have missed a screw or clip somewhere along the way - Make sure you store any clips, caps, screws etc carefully, I nearly lost the internal switch from one of the ultrasonic units from rushing about
Take lots of photos of how things go together. I took all of my B-Pillar trims apart to paint the seatbelt adjusters and took my lights apart to make sure paint got into all the little nooks and crannies. Just a little tip - use candle wax to lubricate the backs of the painted switches, the painted surfaces can stick together which is a proper ballache.

Prep is VERY important!
I cleaned all of my plastics with hot soapy water, rinsed well, dried and gave a final wipe down with panel wipe to give the best surface for the primer to stick to.

I used 2 coats of primer per panels followed up with 3 coats of the gloss black. I let the primer dry properly before painting to be safe.
Make sure you are painting in a warm, clean and ventilated space for best results and a decent curing time for the paint.

Ummm that's all I can think of tonight. I'll update this tomorrow after work as I'll have forgotten to add something.

Right I have sourced everything, and I'm going to pick the majority of it up tomorrow. I will just be waiting on a nomad pillar to spray up and the dylon stuff! Wish me luck. Cheers for the quide too.

Sorry about the late reply, I've been working some crazy hours recently!
Yes I sprayed the visors, I am looking out for some proper black ones and black grab handles though :D

Car looks sweet mate, I recently picked up my Tolly and it's great to see how good these can look.
Love the Flyeyes headlights.
