need help trying to fit a new cam belt

i have a ibiza 1.4 sxe i have just fullt rebuilt the top end and all i have left to do is fit the cam belt but im stuck i cant get bloody bottom pully of any ideas any1 thanks ricko

nope i got a 13mm socket on there but when i turn it it turns the motor over and have no way to jam it

any any ideas im waiting to fit the damn thing so ill be here till u guys help me i know sum1 out there has changed a cam belt b4

Put the car in gear....... And then if it still turns get someone to stand on the brakes. And if it still turns your gonna need to hold it some other way.

hmm still slipping and theres no holes to jam it i lost!!!

i normaly use an old belt wrapped around and an airgun

You mean the alternator belt pully? The one thats held on with 4 Hex bolts. Has a Large nut in the middle of it?

If so then loosen the hex nuts. and the pully should come off. If the hex rounds Chap a multispline into them.

I did my cam belt last week and had it done within an hour one of th easiest belts ive done.
