Yep.I suppose you could get a piece of stainless steel sheet and get a machine shop to fabricate a heat shield for you,but it would still cost a fair bit and in realality you probably wont save that much.If you want performance gains and think the induction kits with heat shields are too expensive then have you considered something like standard air box with green cotton panel filter, this is what i had before jabba induction kit and together with bailey dv30 valve it made a good sound, not as loud as it is now mind,oh and the performance of the jabba kit is better compared to panel filter, but then panel filter cost £40 and induction kit cost me £170.
You wont see massive power gains with panel filter or induction kit though(no matter what they promise),i did notice car seemed to pick up a bit quicker with induction kit and didnt seem strangled at high revs when comparing it to my green panel filter in air box,and the noise is great.

Yeah I know, from previous experience an air filter won't improve things by alot, at least not unless it is complimented by some other breathing mods. I am not very fussed about achieving any power gains as I have a REVO Stage 1 planned at some point, although some added throttle response wouldn't go unnoticed, I will be happy if the car just runs as normal.

Honestly, I was mostly hoping to get the DV to sing a little higher (or at all :p) without having to swap the OEM plastic jobby for one of these Forge items that prove popular on here. I think i'll try one of the Jabba kits that you have, they seem to look nice & do not cause the car to run oddly. Any idea where I may pick one up cheaper than from Jabba direct?

Its worth giving jabba a call and see what sort of a deal they can do on one,i have seen one on ebay about 4 months ago but they are like rockin horse sh*t to find unless you get lucky and they still go for crazy money on there if 2 people are after it.
Ive had no problems with mine, its been on about 18 months now and jabba clean the filter for me when its in for a service or if im there having work done,it usually gets cleaned around 5000 miles mark. Not had any issues with it,fits perfect and is a well made solid heat shield.
As far as dump valve goes you will still get a good noise with standard valve the only thing i would say is it might not be really loud if you havent been remapped yet because you will have alot less boost pressure to start with, but if you are getting revo that will sort it out.

Well unfortunately budget is restricting me buying the Jabba item, those few extra £££ really count at the min so I am likely to settle for the Neuspeed P-Flo. I am concerned though, as Neuspeed use a K&N filter, that it will be oiled and cause my LCR some issues. Can anyone confirm this at all?

If that is the case, am I best off saving a couple more months for the Jabba one or is that oiled too?

I wouldnt worry about it being a K&N,i think jabba have now switched to using that filter as opposed to the J&R one they were using. If you over oil the filter then you will have problems with maf sensor,i think when jabba clean mine when its in for a service they re oil it for me and put it in an oven to dry excess oil off,not caused any problems so far.:)
