Hi all!

I bought a 59 plate bocanegra on saturday from a dealer (not a seat dealer) which had 33k on the clock and a full main dealer service history.
Was very impressed with the comfort, gearbox and power of the boacanegra on the journey home.
After i had made the 130 mile trip home the eml light came on, so i took it too my local seat dealer on monday (which my girlfriends happens to be the warranty administrator for :D) and got it checked out. It turned out to be engine over boost caused by an N75 valve with traces of glue on it. When removed the port fell off. Had this replaced and the car now runs perfect, no eml light on.

While it was there i had a vhc done and it passed with flying colours. But this is when my troubles started when doing this the mechanic noticed that the engine had been out before because of a few none factory bolts, clips broken and rubber missing on the air box. So checked the history of the car and it turns out to have had extensive engine work carried out.

7000 miles - new piston.
7800 miles - new cylinder block.
8000 miles - another cylinder block.
15400 miles - regulating flap for supercharger.
15400 miles - lambda probe.
16300 miles - complete new ecu.

This has now got me worrying about the car and wondering whether to return the car to the dealer i bought it from? The car runs sweet as a nut has no noticeable issues but i know i will be paranoid about the car now. Is this amount of work normal when they first came out? It has ran for 25000 without any engine work, were they fitted with better parts after the amount of failures? Now need some advice of what to do.

Any advice is much appreciated!
Cheers,
Joe.

That amount of work is fairly normal for a Boc, there's owners out there on their 3rd or 4th engine.

The best idea for a new Boc owner is to start saving for your next engine.

I had a feeling someone would say this! Im really undecided whether to just take the money loss and take it back!

Just had to have a new engine and turbo in mine, cam rod snapped and made some nice holes in the engine.

Useless advice get rid I work at seat and every two weeks the same one came back new engine new super charger new turbo and then last time new electronics
