Question is any hints/tips regarding a "run in" period?
There's an enormous thread on TDIClub about break-in...
here.
In summary...
When the engine's cold, don't exceed about 2500 to 3000 rpm. But don't under-rev it either.
For the first 1000 miles or so, don't exceed about 3500 rpm - but don't baby the engine. Once it's warmed up each journey, take every opportunity to give it plenty of right-foot, even if it means speeding up and slowing down like a wally.
After a few thousand miles, feel free to take it all the way through the rev range. Keep giving it some welly.
Most important rule for the entire life of the engine:
Don't baby it! (But then, you didn't buy a Cupra to drive like a granny, did you?)
