It was redlined in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Mork. Handled well and felt planted on the road. It just didn,t float my boat thats all. Probably trying to judge it against my modded LCR, so i will be keeping an eye on the progression of the engine mods with an envious eye.

I would have thought the main reason it under whelmed you compared to the remapped R is the torque it will be putting out around 230lb ish as coxw says over a 5k ish rev band compared to probaly around 300lbft from a remapped R which will be over less revs but will give you a serious shove in the seat. It would only be fair to compare a remapped Cupra R to a Remapped Cupra.

I wouldn't say that would be fair at all ... the LCR being 225, mapped to 265, the new LC 240 to almost 300 odd ....

Its a completely different style of engine, drives very different to the 1.8T

Like I have said previously the 200TSFI drives better than the standard 1.8T 225 due to the way it delivers the power and it being smoother.

just thought i would confirm, the golf gti edition 30 is using the k04 variant turbo, ie its using the same engine as the cupra and the S3. and as standard on the rollers is coming up with similar figures to you guys, not quite as high but alot more than stated. oettinger have a remap for it at 305 bhp, superchips are doing the bluefin remap and thats giving 307bhp (see picture below)
and oettinger do a stage 2 that includes a larger intercooler carbon air intake and a cat back system for the extra 25bhp to get it to 330bhp :-o
