Any help or advise would be a grate help cheers people

Ok I have a pd160 Ibiza Cupra tdi

Today when car was running on tick over the revs have gone up slightly to about 950rpm and the engine sounds more throte and nosier. This is happening when warm and cold.

It does not have any lack of power. Or any lights on the dash.

I can hear the cone air filter I have sucking in when normaly I carnt.

Any ideas what could be causing this places to cheak etc.

It's worrys me abit because the engine tone don't sound rite to me.

Cheers people

Mine is up and down, sometimes the revs increase on idle when cold or hot. My Fabia SDi used to do this too. Never had an warning light on either of the cars.

Do you find it rises then drops back? Also there doesn't seem to be a pattern to it either.

Nope not pattern and yer drops back down what was causing urs

No idea mate, I've never bothered to have the issue rectified. It settles down so I don't really worry about it, just one of those ageing foibles. Could it be the potentiometer...if the engine has one??

It isnt just a sticky foot pedal or somthinglike that ?

No I have that as well lol I have to put my foot under it and lift it slightly to stop that bit it's not stopping it reving up this time and it sounds diffrent to normal :(
