Thinking of change my front bumper to a LCR one, been quoted £113 from a breakers yard for "SEAT Leon 5 Door Hatchback 1.8 Cupra R Bumper - Black" now if its in good condition, no dents, paint damage etc. Is this the right bumper & is it a easy to fix on? i.e. do i have to buy any "brackets" or will it simply screw, bolt onto original bumper fixings?

Cheers

im not sure mate i think it should be pretty much a straight fit?
just for information what breakers is it mate?coz i cant find a single cupra r bumper all over scotland so any help would be appreciated.

I thought it was cheap too, have asked them if they have any pics of it etc. incase its damaged!

My car hasnt got the side skirts or rear bumper from a cupra yet, wont look stupid with just this on will it?

you'll need new bumper guides and splash guards too, make sure it comes with all the grillies and fog lights otherwise it wont be a "cheap" find

You need new guide profiles to fit it on, not sure about the R but on the normal cupra bumpers you also need the splash shield extensions as the bumper flairs out at the bottom :)

Looks like I was beat to it. lol

My car already has fog lights on, can i not just use those? Sorry if I sound stupid! never done this before!

What could I do with my old bumper apart from putting it on eBay? Although i cant imagine many people wanting a bumper off a mk1 1.9 TDI !?

No the cupra R lights are different. :)

I got the LCR front bumper first it looks a bit odd from the side as its deeper than the old one, but this only speeds up the buying process on the rest. You will also need the LCR guide profiles £8ish each and wheel arch extensions £5ish each.

 Way Way to slow ;)

Turns out the qoute i was given was for a "standard" bumper...no wonder it was so cheap!!

Its £190 for the Cupra bumper, no grills or fog lights etc & would need painting :(

yer, not such a good deal then mate, i reckon you would spend the same again on just the fogs and grills unless u could pick them up second hand too.........then quotes for spraying it on top

Cupra R I believe, bloke on the phone didnt seem to have a clue what the hell a Cupra was when I asked!!

Might go for the same bumper you have then if I can use my existing fog lights...

And you can use the existing top grille if you like.

Fog light grilles are only £10 each new, can't imagin the centre lower grill being more than £10 either.

Theres one on ebay for £120 + £25 delivery, needs prime & paint though + grills.

Has anyone attempted painting something like this themselves or better getting a pro to do it?
