New Ibiza Servicing

Hi guys and gals. My girlfreind is about to purchase a new Ibiza 1.6tdi sport but we are unsure of the service regime, would the first service be after 1 year or 2 as we are considering the maintenance package but if its only after 2 years almost seems pointless although we do want peace of mind. any help and advice gratefully recieved

Once a year is usually the service interval, keeps your brakes at their best, looks after the engine, keeps performance...

Best to get it done, I'm not sure but I think it void's warranty if you don't get the car serviced at this interval, I'm not sure on this though.

Once a year to protect the car more than anything, especially after the first year when the engine, turbo's... have had a thorough good run in.

thanks Ed, i was just under the impression the new VW service regime was longlife so only 2 years. they had my MK5 GTI on that but i took it off because i was worried about component failures as you say.

What sort of cost is the first service normally on seats?

SEAT dont run longlife servicing, 10k or a year.

seat itself rang me about my car and i too asked about longlife servicing. They do as vw do etc longlife every 2 years, but this has to be specified at point of sale so the car can be ordered and adjusted/ longlife oil put in at the factory. I was asked by seat if the saleman had asked me about this which he hadnt!!! It would be much better for me as i do 20,000 miles a year

It's 1 yr/10,000 miles, and iirc there was a post on here that explained how anal they were over the strict adherence to the regime (within about a month, few hundred miles of the targets) to maintain the warranty protection.

thanks guys for the help. she does 15k and they didnt ask her anything about the choice of LL either but the car is on order now and she decided to go with the £30 a month maintenance package for piece of mind. Hopefully pick it up next week

Exeo is the only one on the longlife service unless changed at factory
