Hi Guys,

Just about to put my order in for a zenith grey fr tdi.
What this about a bigger display with bluetooth????

I'm getting a deal and wont have bluetooth as an option.
Can I get it as an after sale and get this 'bigger' display?

Cheers.

The display is full size with the bluetooth (the one usually shown in the brochure with the image of a car). The standard one is about a third of the size and just shows the current setting (MPG, Ave Speed etc) in big numbers and the odometer and trip below. It doesn't look too bad as I think they moved the fuel and temperature guage between the two.

Regarding other options from previous posts.

Xenons - Thankfully standard on mine, nice but I wouldn't pay the price for them.

Convenience Pack - Only got it as the car I was allocated happened to have it on, have been really impressed and well worth the £195

iPod Connector - Not worth the £90 or whatever it is now. Doesn't display the track name and is a pain to find the track you want. By a pain I mean if you have a 4 gb iPod and want a track by an artist beginning with say M, you would have to press the next track button around 500 times, without it displaying the track name of the one you are on. Very much an afterthought design.

Hi Guys,

I got everything with the exception of the Xenons, which were too pricey. The convience pack sounds great but i wouldn't miss it if it weren't there. Bluetooth is a must.

One option i don't see mentioned is the "Winter pack" i only got this for the heated seats, but my missus loves this feature and too be honest i like it too, great for an aching back.

As for the 18's, although they look good i have had second thoughts about them now. The ride in the leon is crap, handles well enough, steering is a little too light but the ride is not on the same level as a golf\astra\focus.

well i guess none of these options are really essential since the FR comes pretty fully loaded already. luckily for you the options list isnt bmw-like and most things are pretty reasonably priced :)

18's were a must for me cos they just looked so much better than the standard wheels. makes the rider firmer and its just pure vanity, otherwise why else buy such a good looking car as the leon

i wasnt so sure about the bluetooth before but it was a must for me personally once i noticed what the standard mfd looked like, plus the saftey aspect of taking calls whilst driving. it was more the case of £250 now or regretting later that i never added it on!

we also got the conv pack which is fine if you have the spare cash but its not really hard to switch the wipers or lights on manually

could not justify the xenons as they were just too much.

got an ipod thingy but havnt borrowed an ipod to test it out yet. some people here have said its quite pants actually

other things such as armrests and interior/exterior trim or changes you can always leave till after when u are feeling a bit richer ;)

it all depends on how much u want to spend as the std car will have everything you will ever need, everything else is a luxury (that you have to pay for remeber ;) )

totally disagree with the comments about the xenons. I have them, and they are fantastic, The 2 options i would not be without are Bluetooth - this fantastc, very easy to use and safe too, and you get the bigger display, and the Xenons, they are fantastic, i hardly ever use the main beams, these are my first set, and the output over Standards is phenominal.

My car has most options - 18's, con Pack, Sunroof (a steal at £310!!)IPOD, Winter (comfort), Xenons, BT. but the 2 above are the ones i would pick, The IPOD option is Turbo W**K squared!

Mine is in Luna Grey as well.

Dave

I totally agree with your opinion about xenons. Plus they look great and mean. And NO halogen bulb comes close compaired with real xenons. A must imo. Ofcourse here they cost about 640 :)
Bluetooth with its big display is great.

I have gone luna, zenons, 18" alloys, "But If you have a tom tom its probably worth the pre wiring at £25 to save any unsightly power wires???"I don`t have one but have optioned it as maybe in the future  Mines being built next week............:funk:

many congratulations.

dont forget the tomtom pre-wire will prevent some future additions (cd multiplayer/ipod/and 3rd party bluetooth etc...)
bi-xenons you wont regret the extra, missing the blutooth .

enjoy it once it arrives.

On looking at the tom tom 720, as on Seats accesory website, it is bluetooth enabled. As for the ipod, not interested. I was gonna swap the multiplayer over from my mk1 Leon but it looks like a load of hassle fitting under the seat, the new one is mp3 so can run off my own discs.
If I were on the phone alot, say company car I would have optioned bluetooth, but I rarely use the phone whilst driving (use a bluetooth headset if needed) so its not worth it to me.
