Hello all, I'm hoping I can draw on the experience of the members of this forum to help with a problem I have.
I've just purchased a '55 plate Leon FR TDI with a couple of modifications and it's approaching insurance renewal time.
So, the first issue I have is with the full de-cat exhaust system and the EGR delete. I want to be totally up-front with my insurer but i don't know whether these two mods will prevent me from obtaining a policy as i'm unsure of the legality. Does anyone know where I stand with these mods and insurance?
The second issue is with the remap on the car. I have no idea what the power output is. The previous owner speculated it was between 180-185BHP but he couldn't be sure as it was the previous owner before him who had the remap. Is it ok to offer an approximate figure to my insurer or am I obliged to obtain an accurate figure from a rolling road?
Ugh... it would be so much easier to be ignorant or even just vague about these things but I know they can come back and bite you
I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can offer.
