New phone Error: USB Device

Bought a new phone and now the car won't connect to the phone. It alternately says "Reading USB Device" then "Error: USB Device". Shame as they'd finally added Tomtom to Android Auto and I was enjoying that! I believe I have a Mib2 head unit. Anyone had similar issues?

No luck with this. I've done a firmware upgrade supplied by the super helpful @East Yorkshire Retrofits but still not fixed. Seems like my new phone (Oneplus Nord) is a bit of a pain. I'll keep tinkering!

Just to let you know I managed to fix my issue with a different USB A to USB C cable. The official Oneplus cable didn't work. Neither did some others but hit on one that does.
