New pollen filter

Hi guys,

I am after a new (carbon) pollen filter for my Leon 2004. I bought a new Hengst one but it is pretty useless and nowhere near as good as the Valeo I had. Unfortunately I can't seem to get hold of a Valeo filter. Any ideas where I could get my hands on a decent one - apart from getting one from the stealers?

I got mine from ecp pretty sure it was a Hengst, mines fine, what's the problem?

Seems to be a more noticeable exhaust fume smell in the cabin when the fan is on, in particular when stuck in the traffic and when the car is stationary (with no other cars around). The filter i have in thecar at the moment isn't a carbon filter as couldn't get hold of one from ecp.

Could it be another problem?

Yeah possibly a problem there but masked by a dirty filter?

Filter is about 3 months old. Exhaust leak somewhere perhaps? Problem with the breather pipe or air intake box?

Yeah along those line you got a boost gauge fitted?

Nope.

See if you did on tickover it should read -22 hg but no gauge it could be at -15 showing an air leak

Any idea where the breather pipe can be located?

Yeah under the inlet manifold are the main culprits for leaking, look for an oily residue

Hi. Just a quick update...Havent got round to sorting this yet but noticed tonight that there is a noticable whistle of air sound coming through the passenger air vent. Seems to stop when you turn the climate control on.

Any ideas?
