New to all this proper cleaning stuff, and been reading for a bit and finally ordered some stuff for my car.

This is what I have just ordered;

Meguiars Wheel Brightner
38"x28" Microfibre Drying Towel
Valet Pro - PH Neutral Snow Foam
Meguiars Lambswool Wash Mitt

Tomorrow i'm going to go out and get some Megs Gold Class Shampoo and a Megs Clay Kit.

Can anybody recommend some wax? I've got a Black Magic Ibiza, never done it before. And also can somebody recommend some buffing towels please:D

Ive got a dodo juice hard wax and seems fine to me, not sure which one would suit your car but very good wax, as for the clay keep it lubed up with the quick detailer, i usually put it in some warm water to soften it before i start.

my car isnt black but a gunmetal ish :lol: i use autoglym high def wax, apart from having little clumps ( i mean little) stick to the applicator and then on the car sometimes it gives a great shine... you might wanna get some sealant or pre wax cleanser too, protects abit more, not necessary though

I've got my Clay and Shampoo now, but i'm gonna have to wait 2 weeks for my other stuff :(

Ordered off Clean Your Car, paid with Paypal and it sent payment as an echeque! Arghh.

Might be a blessing in disguise though, as the next week is going to be damn cold

if you want some decent wax, and you have a black car like mine, then the Victoria concours wax is great for dark coloured cars and really adds a nice depth of colour to it

you can order some from www.cleanyourcar.co.uk :D

you should have ordered some megs "shampoo plus" too, much better & better value.

Tried pretty much every wax out there & found ZAINO works best on black magic for me[B)]

With you Jace on this. For black paint you can't beat Zaino, Z8 is awesome.

Been looking at getting a polishing machine now, might aswel go all out if i'm going to learn how to clean a car properly.

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polis...al-action-polisher-menzerna-kit/prod_522.html

Thats the one I was looking at, and recommended. Reakon that's ok for a noob? Hopefully i'll get a mate to show me how to use one properly before I let myself loose with it

So with that if I buy it, i'll have...

Pre Wash - Valet Pro Snowfoam
Wash - Megs Gold Class Shampoo, Lambswool Mitts + 2 Buckets
Drying - Large Microfibre Drying Towel
Clay - Megs Clay Kit
Wheels - Megs Wheel Brightener (Need a Brush)
Polish - Kestral DA-6 with Menzerna + Plush Buffing Cloths
APC - Tesco APC (Some people on DetailingWorld swear by it)
Wax - Not decided on this yet, probably try the Zanio

Reakon that'll be ok to keep me going?! :)

APC = All Purpose Cleaner

You're looking at £200 for that lot. The Kestral DA-6 is the most expensive thing, £130 with the Menzerna polish and pads.

I've just got the megs g220 DA and it's a doddle to use, i've put some pics in prestige polish section with the results i got, i will say one thing make sure you get some making tape for the rubbers etc!

If you haven't aleady, you might want to add some microfibre towels for buffing the polish to your list.

Decided against the polishing machine for now, i'll have to wait a few more paydays. Gonna get me some Autogly Super Resin Polish for the time being. Give it 2 coats and put my Meguires Carnuba Wax on it, seeing as it came with my clay kit
