Hi all I know this is a pain in t'arse but I need some advice.

I'm a VAG enthusiast but the SEATs are the ones I have looked at the least, so please be patient with this n00b :D

Just a few questions and I'll shut up, promise lol...

What wheel size is the best for handling 16 or 17?
Does anyone recommend a good set of coilovers?
Views on splitters and bonnet bras?

Muchos appreciated ladies and gents! :)

hello and welcome

firstly i think that my car was better handling on my 16" but styling has to be 17"
coilovers there is a little bit of choice but i think most go for fk coilovers
most do a splitter on the facelift modles and a few who can be botherd do do bonit bras

all the best

Cheers thanks for that.
Yeah I was going to stick a splitter on mine anyway I just want to know what people thought of them :)
I think it needs 'beefing' up because as it currently stands, it looks like a girls car haha

Yeah well coilies are going on in April so wheels will be after that. I can get a splitter any night of the week so I'll get that when I can be bothered using my pay pal again lol...

16s for handling..
FK's seems to be the weapon of choice
and leave the bra at home .. (they only look good if at all on Mk2's IMO )
splitter? depends on how low you want the car
:D

My boyfriend has a MK2 Golf GTi and it looks awesome on that! Like I said though, I don't know too much about SEAT so far so all advice is good :)
I have been told by my Fabbie owner friend to keep it on 16's - this is a man who had his on 18's lol...
Am i right in thinking the Ibiza is built on a 9n chassis?

apparently mine is a girl's car.... the chicks dig the paintwork lol

16's are good enough i think
FK are popular although it depends of your ride preference *hey no sniggering in the back there*
As said, leave the bra at home *shuush*
A good number of people here have got an Leon Cupra splitter fitted to their Ibiza

yeah mk4 Ibiza are really 9N Polo but with different body and plastics, engines are the same essentially.

Have a dig around the FAQ section for mods and how to guides to get the low down, part number, etc.

and.. Welcome Aboard!!!

A mate of mine had 16's on his 1.2 and it was crazy good on handling, was the FR wheels like yours I reckon, as above 16's me thinks

As for a bra, I have seen them on MK3's brummy and they look good, so not just mk2!

Im on 17's atm but am going to size down to 16 when i eventually change wheels.
Personally handling could be better, even after tyre changes etc

hello and welcome

I would probably say that 16's will be slightly better handling but I wouldn't have thought much

As for coilovers I suppose its personal prefernce: cost, intended use and ride quality

I would probably say FK are the most common as they are not to expensive they have alot of choices.

LCR splitter does make the front end look lower on the facelift bumper and is a cheap and simple mod

As for the bonnet bra this is a marmite thing

I personally love mine check my thread for the latest pics of it on. Some people say wtf is that and others say actually i quite like it. only really have it for shows anyway

Goodluck on finding what your after

Something to consider regarding the wheels will be the state of the roads in your area...if the roads are a bit broken up and potholed, 17s will make life a bit more uncomfortable which will become a serious pain if you do lots of miles! :( On the island here, the roads are properly shafted so running 17's would be a bit mental

The LCR splitter is a great bit of design in my opinion...I even fitted it to my Fabia, (facelift, NON vRS ) and it really tidied up the looks...so go for it on your ibiza :funk:

Not a fan of (bonnet) bras...

Enjoy the car :D

Thanks for all replies guys!

I think I'll probably stick with 16's for now as it is all about the performance rather than 'bling' lol...
That, and the roads are dogsh... round my area!
My friend (You may know him, Shifty with the silver VRs that Mr. Grumpy now owns) had 18's on his and it still handled well etc.
Money isn't really an issue for the coilies as my other half is getting them for me as a present - Nice :D
But, by the sounds of things we want FK's :)

steady.... lol

yeah bigger wheels means lower profile tyres means less sqishy stuff to absorb that pothole you just ran over in the dark, grr, i'm not a bitter man, my HID and eyes can only spot so much...

Im running 17's and there a right pain with the road conditions at the moment

Coilovers and new Tyres (What are on the FR from new, PZeros?) can add to a good ride. HID's are a must too ;) It'd stick 17s on it just for the looks fills the arch better - The Cupras have 17s so I suppose they'd be better for handling on any ibiza with the right suspension setup.

As for bonnet bras and splitter - yes (see my sig pic ;))

Nice to see somebody else from Blackpool area.

17" looks better and has less tyre flex but the ride will be firmer as you know, I have standard 16" sport alloys on mine and i think there is alittle to much side wall flex with my Toyo T1Rs.

What model do you have?.

Just noticed I am not familiar with 99% of the people posted on this thread good to see more girlies! Was beginning to think I am the only girl with a modded mk 4!
Splitter is nice a cheap be careful on ebay people sell them for more than the dealers do!
