Well, a few weeks back I posted about getting some grit stuck under my wiper thus etching a nice arc across my windscreen. Today on the way to work some idiot decided to overtake me and churn up debris which hit my windscreen. Heard a noise as a stone hit my windscreen. Then, on the way home another stone bounced off my windscreen and I discovered a crack! :censored: Phoned the insurers and it looks like I need my screen replacing and I am now waiting for a phone call with an appointment time. Dunno what it is with this car - only had her under 6 months and already two cars have opened their doors on it and shared their paint with mine, then the grit under the wiper and now this - two stones and a crack in one day! I don't think this car likes me too much, lol! Can we just fast forward to 2012 please before anything else happens to my car?!

I've a crack in mine too - right at the bottom, it's a stone chip with 3 cracks coming from it. But it's been there from the summer and hasn't gotten any worse, and its in the black bit of the windscreen so you can't see it from inside the car.
Must get onto my insurance about getting it replaced. Is it possible to get them to replace it with genuine SEAT glass - this is the first car I've had where all the windows match! lol and I'd like to keep it that way :)

It's about 3 - 4 inches long from just off the top middle right of the windscreen. Been advised that due to all the bank holidays the new glass won't be here possibly until Wednesday of next week! The chap assured me that it's safe to drive and it won't shatter like the other windows (which is what I was worried about) - he said the crack will just travel to the edge and would stay like that forever if it wasn't fixed. It does need to be replaced as if it travels further it'll be right down my line of vision.

Im due another one, mine cracked a week after having a full windscreen replacement, also just found multiple big scratches on the outside of my passenger window today :(

nah it isnt genuine seat glass they use if you use aut glass.
i had mine done a month or 2 ago.
i had a chip on saturday night so rang up for it to be fixed on the night, then sunday afternoon i had ot go to work and suprise suprise it cracked all the way across my screen :(
So new windscreen lol

The windscreen is safe to drive with as it wont shatter because all windscreens now days are laminated. so they will just crack but not shatter

I feel your pain! Had mine replaced Tuesday after a large stone/boulder hit mine right next to the tax disc. By the time I had got home the crack was about 6-7inches long :(

Must be a Candy White / 1.2TSI combo thing (mines a Leon)

Had this happen to me beginning of this year with the snow/bad weather in January. Was a big ass chip in the top left of my screen which was too close to the edge to just seal over.

It was a frosty start when I left for work, the chip looked fine after the windscreen defrosted. Got to work still fine, went to my car at 12 to go out for lunch and it was a huge crack. So out came the £70 for a new one :( Was only 9 months old too.

Candy white thing i reckon lol.

This is annoying. I got a stone chip hit the very edge of the windscreen sometime over the christmas period - and sure enough it's now turned into a 6" crack!!

The car's only 3 months old!!!

I only had the windscreen in my old Ibiza replaced about 4-5 months ago for a crack. The guy who did it (from National Windscreens) reckoned that whoever had replaced it before (it was replaced a few years before by autoglass) hadn't sealed it properly and that the water had seeped in and caused corrosion on one side.... ! The Guy from national seemed to do an OK job as he said he'd tried to treat the rust for me and re sealed it, but he left mucky fingerprints on the pillars of the car....

I'm not sure I want mucky fingerprints on my new ibiza!! Who can I trust to replace it properly too - anyone know any good places/ mobile windscreen people around N London/Herts area? I don't want it to be fitted poorly like the autoglass screen - or mucky fingerprints (though I guess this is the lesser of the two evils....!)

Autoglass did the screen on my old Honda. I was anxious but they did an excellent job and I never had any trouble. I guess there's a risk whoever does it, but these outfits do so many I can't believe they'd still be in business if there were many failures.

National Windscreens did mine and did an awesome job. He even managed to recover my richbrook tax disc holder and the sticker bits and stuck it onto the new windscreen for me.

Really good company I thought.

Autoglass fitted my new windscreen back in December, they did a first class job! I think the guy spent more time cleaning up than he did putting the screen in, the car was pristine when he finnised.
I would have no hesitation using Autoglass again, but I do hope I never need to......lol
