At the minute it dose'nt quiet feel as fast as my old rallye.....but i have'nt really had the chance to push it yet due to the said pipe.

For anyone who doubts that a 157bhp 106 is slow, think again but im sure the ibiza is quicker but i just need to be able to give her some...oh and get it to boost properly again, Mark has gave me some good advice and on Saturday i will be fitting the new Samco, giving the air filter, plugs and MAF a good clean then reset the ecu and hope that she boosting back at 20psi again.

P.S Theres a vid of the rallye on the Nurburgring in my newbie post for anyone who wishes to have a look.

yes daz that is the old beast with a new (caring) owner im glad to say :)

it seems the car hasnt had the attention modified cars need to keep them tip top but it sounds like lee is doin all the right things.

keep us updated. it is (was?!) a quick car no doubt, beaten a couple of E46 M3s upto around 120 from standing start. 13.6 1/4mile @103mph gives a good idea too :)

I actually went to look at this car and I didn't think it was quick and that was compared to my 200bhp K03 ibiza, didn't seem to be boosting well at all. It also had no oil what-so-ever in when I checked it, never a good sign !!

was still a nice car though and the body work was mint...

In need of help part 2....

Right ive fitted the new pipe this morning and it was a perfect fit after trimming the pipe a little for it to sit right.

Ive also done a Re-set (disconnected battery) to try and get the car to boost to 20psi once again. After i had fitted the pipe i took the car out for a run and now the car is only boosting to 13psi and peaking at 15psi.

Can anyone help me as to what to do? I dont have VAG-COM so im a little bit stuck.

Please help as my impressions of this car are slowly getting worse.

Thanks

Lee

first guess would be a boost leak. i would say take the bumper off and check every inch of pipe for leaks.
check the forge diverter valve is not leaking.
your life would be so much easier with vag-com, you can log delivered boost vs. requested boost, knock sensor, ignition retardation, mass flow readings from the MAF, and check for faults logged (there might not be any logged)
N75 valves are known to be weak on 20vt cars
have you checked the spark plugs are ok?
how long did you leave the battery disconnected for?
have you checked the boost gauge is reading right?!
like i say, with a car like this, VAG-COM is priceless, i wouldnt be without it now ive had it and my leon is standard (engine wise)
if that pipe kept popping off when tin had the car then i suppose there is a chance the turbo is damaged, but i doubt that?

I left the battery disconnected for a good 45mins. With me changing the pipe and moving the hardpipe quite a bit maybe i have disturbed one of the hoses so it is leaking boost?????? I will take the bumper off tomorrow and have a look.

Is there anyone in the yorkshire area that could help me with VAG-COM????

Im scowering EBAY everyday now on the look out for a cheap lap top just for this situation. Im very new to the 20vT sence but from what i have seen VAG-COM is deffinatly priceless.

when you were replacing the pipe just check the little pipe comming of the top of the dump valve isn't pinched or bent over a little, did this on mine way back and stoped it boosting to 20psi.

mmmm mines running great:p :p

dump valve is located here

to test disconnect, push plunger up with a pencil or like. Then place finger over little pipe nipple and remove the pencil.the pressure should hold it until you remove your finger,it should then pop back down.

yep as jamie said above re the dv.

the n75 is just trial and error really, it is a boost controll valve though, so its worth paying 20 odd quid for a new one just to try it. i would also do the n249 bypass mod aswell on that car
