Ok, seeing as I'm only 14 (15 in april!) i obviously can't quite afford a real leon. However, i love the car, so...Does anyone know of any die-cast models that are available:confused:? Preferably a 1:18 scale Cupra. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to SCN young man :D

Firstly I am unabler to advise if toy models are available but I am sure that if there are there are people on this site who will be able to point you in the right direction.

My only question is!

Why have you got such an interest in such a brilliant car at such a young age???? Do'es a family member own one?????????????????

I don't know really, I've always been into cars since a really young age, and the Leon just took my interest a year or so ago. I've been in love with it since!

Sounds a good plan to me. But if you do find in 2 years time that you can afford a 3 year old Seat Leon TFSI FR DSG drop me a line :D :D :D :D

Joking apart, the Ibza will be a good start as a young driver! I do not know your personal circumstances but with young drivers "bank of mum and dad" tends to play a big part in first motors, especially in respect of insurance!

On the insurance note, my brother passed his test recently, and found that his insurance was much cheaper when on my mums policy as an additional driver, the only problem there being that he wont build up a no claims bonus and risks losing my mums no claims. But it allowed him to insure a Golf MKIV 1.9 PD115!

True,

Unless your mum goes with someone like "Direct Line" which will allow named drivers to "build" there own no claims as "named drivers" Please note that "Direct Line" will not appear on any "Insurance Search" link because you must deal with them personnaly.

Also, you must be very careful that "mum" does actually drive the car as main driver. What I mean to say there is:

If an accident occures and the insurance company can "prove" that the named main driver (mum) is not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "THEY WILL NOT PAY OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Model cars! I cannot advise as I said earlier!

Your response tends to indicate "DO NOT TRY TO GIVE GOOD ADVICE TO A TEENAGER IN REPECT OF REAL LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

OK. I was a bit harsh on this young man who may be a fully qualified driver in 2 years time and, I admit that I may have been extremely harsh when he reverted back to "model cars"

First of all let me appologise to "AMR276" for my abruptness!

I think what really cheesed me off was, following his honest response to "legitimate" questions, we reverted back to toys! Maybe that was what the thread was originally about but surely, from the questions I asked, this is/was an opportunity to educate a future driver at the same time!

Personally I would not like to be involved in an accident with his brother because, I believe, if the insurance company looked at it closely they would declare that he is "NOT THE MAIN DRIVER OF THE CAR" and, as such, would refuse to pay out. I may be wrong and his mum may be the main driver of the car but I have been on the recieving end of this scenario where the insurance company have said "PROVE IT" and they could not!

Once again I appologise to "AMR276" and, with no disrespect to him, will never attempt to communicate good advice to a future driver on this site again!!!!
