Next model?

I have a friend who is thinking of buying a Ibiza (no its not me I have a FR ). The current model has been out for approx 5 years now, although the Skoda Fabia was 7 years before its replacement.
Does anyone know if there is replacement in the pipeline, if so when and is there any pictures.

the new model doesn't do it for me!

Unfortunately this is very common for lots of 'superminis' (read bloated overweight medium sized cars) becuase of crash regulations for both the occupants and pedestrians.....

Look at how the mini has gone from the new mk1 to the new mk2. Bonnet line increase, more this more that and more weight...

usually most cars in the VAG range go 7 years before they get replaced but I think the ibiza/polo and the latest golf will only go on for 6 due to profitability reasons!
