Hello all, my radio in my car is driving me nuts !! My car has the standard cd/radio/dab unit in it and no matter what I do I can't pick up any radio on it even when dab is switched off. I have checked connections and replaced aerial booster and still nothing! Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas anyone? Any help much appreciated!

I have FINALLY solved my radio reception problem, check out pics below

These are pics of my aerial base and as you can see it is corroded and has got very wet/damp throughout its life. I replaced this for £19 from sere motors, fitted in less than 30 minutes and now it works perfectly. I've had the headunit in and out probably 20 times trying to rectify the problem and it was the aerial base all along! So so happy to finally sort this!

hi there, i'm unable to get any fm stations on my blaupunkt dab radio, could the aerial base be the problem?? i thought dab and fm station signals would be coming from same aerial.

Is the aerial base hard to remove? I have the same problem and it also drives me mad. Would love any tips .. I'm not too handy

Craig has got it spot on - you need a new aerial. The amplifier for the DAB is located in the base of the aerial and corrodes over time. I had fading in and out of signal for months and then I read Craig's original post with photos. Had a new aerial fitted the other week and all good now.
