Noise from wheels

Hi,
since I put winter tires (205/55 R16 ET46) on the Leon, when I turn the steering wheel completely to the right or left and move forward, something hums from the front wheels. It doesn't make any noise on summer wheels (225/40 R18 ET51).
What can it be?
Thank you

I can only assume that the tyres are rubbing somewhere.

Sounds like a possibility. Are the winter wheels the correct size and offset or did you just buy some old VW wheels that would fit?

Best bet is to jack up a front corner and spin the wheel. You should be able to find it quite easily.
