I AM IN FRONT OF YOU
I had a powerflow exhaust fitted about 10 months ago and had nothing but problems. The exhaust its self was perfect for the first 3 months now it bangs and to top it of now the bracket as snapped of.
Took it back to the dealer to get it sorted and the lad who does them as now gone on holiday for 2 weeks and all i get of the other blokes is well i can not fix it.
Now i am really peed of as i can not use my car. i phoned powerflow up.
he wants me to travel 40miles to anther dealer to get it sorted. which is no good to me as the exhaust is hanging of.
Now there is a bloke i know what could weld it for me but its going to cost me money again what the point of heaving a lifetime guarantee if you have to pay to have it repaired
this has now put me of going to powerflow again
and the thing is rusty i thought it was supposed to be stainless steel.
i will post a picture when the rain has stopped.

no the whole lot as gone rusty and the welds are full of porosity
workmanship is a total joke and you would have cover for him knowing that he is going on holiday

well if he was going on holiday, he wouldn't have booked up a diary of jobs.
You need to appreciate that people have to take holidays.
The company were at least trying to get you somewhere else, maybe you need to be a bot more flexible,
Know its a pain mate, but either wait or drive, they have tried!

As for the rust, i'm sure if you gave it a clean you'd bring it back up to its former glory, stainless steel will still go tatty but it will clean up to its former glory!

Normaly you can tell on how it is welded, some jobs looke like its done by a 4year old and some looks its done bya an artist. If they rush it then fare enough it will snap after a period of time! i would just take it back to them!

I do agree with BCM....Just an idea however is there no way you can prop the exhuast up somehow and drive the 40 miles?

Did they offer a routine checkup?
When i had my powerflow exhaust on my last car they asked me to go back to them 6months after it being fitted so they can put it on their ramps and check it all over, and then after the first 6months every 12months then on. (for free)

Wish i had of taken it off the ZR now before i part-exd it, still looked brand new.

I thought it was part of the lifetime guarentee that they have to check it every 12 months.

Sorry to say this but you've been done by the powerflow bug. About 1 in 20 or so go rusty and need replacing from what ive seen. I know i wont go to powerflow. But just tie the box up and drive the 40 miles. you dotn need to buy a replacement box. Even just leave it off wont do too much harm for 40 miles.

I had a Powerflow centre section on my old Rover, I believe they use mild steel not proper stainless steel hence the lifetime guarantee.
