Hi guys

This thread and a number of others refer.

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=296549

Well, my Leon has been declared OK by the garage that put in the new short engine etc, etc, etc.

I've been driving it for a while now trying to get used to it.

But while there are no codes I can read and no outward signs it does not feel quite right from a performance point of view!

(readiness tests all pass)

One thing I have noticed is that higher speeds 70  + there is now a rather throaty sound, I am sure it did not have this before.

It does not seem to pull as well as it did, acceleration is there but not what it was!

So I am wondering what is the best thing to do.
I can't put my finger on what is wrong so its hard to go back to the garage at this point.

Would a proper vag com scan show up more?

Is it worth taking it to JKM and asking them to give it the once over checking that everything has been done right?

Really not sure of the best thing to do so hope my buddies out there can offer advice.

Thanks

Mike

Right, decided to take the initiative and the car goes to JKM tomorrow for a check up and diagnostics.
They know its history and what has been done so should be well placed to spot any problems.

Just given the engine bay a good clean up ready :)

It almost looks like the car doesnt like you

LOL, well this time it was the JKM mechanic driving! it does seem to be a magnet for crap.
But, it got a nice clean Vag Com report, really good apparently.

I feel happier now JKM have looked at it and said all ok.

Maybe some day this car will come to like me, after all I have spent out more than I paid for it on repairs so far

I think I saw that piece of junk on the road earlier today... Looked like an engine mount or something.

Bad luck though

Yeah a big lump of stuff, was on the hard shoulder when I went home, looked like that Roller had been hit as well! The wall of the tyre was ripped right open by it! but apart from the scuff under side and the hole in the rear pre wheel trim looks like I got away with it.
JKM supplied a brand new tyre free and as they were worn I paid for a 2nd one so I have two new fronts now :) with luck, maybe time to enjoy the car
