Not The Usual Induction Kit Question

Ok after a bit of "alterations" over the week end I've found myself in need of a new cold air feed and a bracket for the dynatwist.
I want the same kind of cold air feed i had, the stuff that doesnt rip!
And I need to either buy or make a bracket to secure the induction kit to the suspension top mount!

Nice, but don't you think you should have some sort of rubber bush or springing in there to stop shocks being transferred to the MAF from the shell?

It's hard to tell from a photo... but judging by the thickness of the metal, I'd presume it would have some sort of natural flex in it anyway, which will help to stop vibrations damaging things.

DPJ..i have to ask this, as i have wondered it for a while, and its not a slating by any means, just a question. Do you think your dead MAF's problem could be that it is to well protected, and springy? and this is causing your probs, as i have a vision in my head of your bubble wrap cushon and bracket, holding it, but it being very flexable in its movement, allowing lots if fine vibrations to go to the MAF thus killing it.

No, I'm absolutely certain excess airflow is killing them. For example with #7 and #8, I was on a very smooth stretch of road when they went. On Saturday I did 10 laps of Croft Circuit at speed (but not revving past 6k revs) without the MAF failing. #9 failed on the 'cooldown lap'. In all three cases I'd revved the car under load a bit past 6k revs.

ah i see, dont the LC have a smaller maf inlet 70mm?? cant you swap it onto an 80mm LCR /S3 housing? or something. Anyway, was just something i had wondered thats all. Good luck with sorting it buddy.

exactly, its really doing my tats in, just now because there is no bracket its sitting on top of my original filter box (just the lower half)
need to get my ass in gear and make a bracket!
