So a couple of weeks ago i changed the air filter on my car. Currently there are 2 of the hoses, pretty much being redundant, i guess its just for increase air flow, not sure tbh but either way i guess i need some silicone hoses to help with airflow.

Anyway back to the topic.

Its only happened twice both times i have been in second gear, ive pulled away in first switched to second to get away from the lights, i guess its as i hit about 45-5500 revs, and my car then starts bleeping at me almost as if my handbrake is on and the handbrake light comes on, then it goes off after the 3rd beep.

i know its not my handbrake being on as i never use it whilst im travelling and id travelled 10 miles today already and id hope id notice the handbrake being on :/

My thought is it could be due to lack of air flow but really im just guessing, so any ideas are appreciated

unless it's the lights at santa pod why would you take it to 4-5 1/2 thou my guess is the computer is activating the rev limiter and cutting the ignition I can only guess that's what the beep and light is someone I s'pect' can confirm

Not sure about the petrol but with the diesel if you block the hose from the airbox it creates such a problem.

I'm pretty sure the rev limiter doesn't throw any lights or sounds, it just cuts fuel in my experience.

And if it's a 1.4 then 4-5k revs are a standard overtaking maneuver

Slight update, did it at 2.5k revs in second and in third at about 30Mph, seems to happen when turning right and accelerating, not sure if its just a sensor, but dont know what would throw this up any ideas?

guess you really need a vag com scan the turning right would SEEM to be a red herring but sounds like a wireing fault somewhere long shot- is your battery good or just OK?

Check brake fluid level if it's low then the fluid could be dipping below the sensor level when accelerating hard or turning. The brake warning light will only flash for a fraction of a second and is easily missed
