Small flat-blade screwdriver in the left hand side of the lens, where there is a catch and gently prise it out.

Those led`s will be too bright IMO James, 6watt led`s will just light up the road like crazy and get you pulled- they are also a bit small.

they are bright and do light up the road abit but i have never been pulled for then, i wouldn say they light up the road like crazy my friend has a set on his 6n gti and he has never been pulled ether. how are they too small?????

Ok like crazy may have been an overstatement but at 6 watts they are brighter than the single led versions which will be 3 watts tops as it`s a SMD type led like the ones I have.
To me the idea is not to have number plate lights too bright but to improve the colour of light produed.

They are a couple of mm too small for the mk4 as it requires a 39mm bulb, It may be fine but I`ve never liked bending tabs to accomodate a smaller fitting.

Was`nt trying to p**s in your pool mate, just giving my thoughts. :)

thats cool mate the leds i got fitted fine and i didnt have to bend anything to get them to fit snug. i did get my hopes up and thought they would fit in the interior light but thats a little bit longer. do you know what size???
When i get off my ass i will take a pic and show you how mine look ..

Fair enough!

The interior light is probably the only one I don`t know!
Sounds like a good one to do though.

Neo, is there any chance you could give me another link to the bulbs you got as that one has expired?? Thanks

Just put two in like the ones Neo suggested and all I can say is they're ace :)

Got mine for £9'ish and they are the perfect brightness level - Not too bright and not too dim either. Cheers Neo!

I got 'em from some guy in Hong Kong via ebay and they took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. Strangely the packet says they can handle between 12 to 24 volts which makes me think they will last - only time will tell eh :)

Cool! :smoke:

Nice are`nt they? Well made and as you say they should last... still going in mine.

3 weeks is about right from China, or 2 to 3. I`m still waiting for a 140 led light bulb for my driveway light... it`s been 4 weeks now.

By the way if anyone wants to know, here`s a fresh link to the ones I`m talking about... as most of the links have expired in this thread. CLICKY

I doubt the police would ever pull you over for your number plate lights being too bright.. oh sorry officer I'll make it harder for everyone to read my number plate.... haha

I had the small 2 LED 1W ones and they broke so the guy sent me 6 LEDs ones like in that link. They are a little bright but I don't mind too much. When I do my fogs with Fly-eyes I may try a few layers on them see if I can dull them without losing the colour or spread of light.
