hi bit of a stupid one but for those of you with a fr how are your number plates fixed to the car?

I have stuck my front on with pads and no problems

but found the rear on the floor today!

I have got around 8 sticky pads but it will stick to the plastic on the back of the car!

I hate look of screws but i am running out of options![:@]:censored::censored:

any ideas?!

Thanks

Mine is screwed on with coloured caps. Luckily they don't fall on the boundary of any letters as some do, so they are invisible from any normal distance.

Before you blemish that spotless rear bumper :D ... B&Q do a Roll of Numberplate double sided padded tape.
It has a green plastic backing, and is "supposed" to be a super strong hold! Take a look (found it in the glue and tapes section).

My FR which was owned by SEAT UK before me had the SEAT UK number plate holders that were screwed to the bumper and then the plate was held with 4 sticky pads to the holder at the back and screwed through with blue and white (respectively) caps at each end right at the top for the front.

Numberplate double sided padded tape is great to start with but will only last a few months. In my last car had to do it every few months, but with a good clean it my last longer.

No need to drill your plate ;)

I got these number plate holders from Halfrauds
The plate tucks in at either end to hold in place but I added some heavy duty
double sided tape as well for peace of mind.

About £18 a pair I think they were

there the best deal, it makes you feel sick when you come out to your car find your plates missing, the old bill turn up and ask you to confirm where you have been as its been involved in a fill and burn or some other more serious criminal offence.

They give you a crime no after proving your innocence and then the fun really starts, more enquiries form other forces speeding tickets, parking tickets and other traffic offence paperwork that then cause stress as you have to keep writing to the relevent police force ticketing office to inform them you own the registration but the plates where stolen.

To much effort hence why i screwed and capped. This wasn;t a personal experiance but get incidents like this reported regularly at work.
