Hi Guys, Just got my HTC Sensation so I bought the software straight out and WOW its come on leaps and bounds.
I love the track day plugin that records what your doing plus it logs, fantastic!

Anyone have any idea what MAF and what PSI boost I should be reading in a 278bhp LCR?

I'm using the suggested -14.7 setting for sea level (According to the software) to calculate the boost.
Cant remember what the MAF is pulling but I'm SURE I saw the boost peak for a second at 30PSI which seems WAY too high to me but on full beans in a straight line its between 25 and 27PSI.

MAF Pulls like 186 I think,
Found out today it wasn't logging so I'm going to have to log it when I'm charging down a motorway ramp!

I'd think about 222g/s for 278 using the "g/s x 0.8" calculation.

I'm not entirely convinced how accurate Torque's logging is, it also seems to be worse if you have more readouts visible on the screen, same principle as having VAGCOM only logging one block gives you better accuracy than when logging two or three together, the author says something about that on the website.

Also don't log when running downhill, that skews the readings because the load placed on the engine is less than when on a flat or uphill. Ideally you want to log on a straight road, flat or on a slight uphill slope.

I think that because its generically setup its not perfect for every car needs to be tweaked for each setup.
To be honest I only glance quickly as I need to keep my eyes on the road I'll have to run some proper runs when I find somewhere safe and quiet and log them.

Know what you mean, haven't had time to play with the logging yet so trying to have a quick glance at the MAF reading when you're in 3rd near the redline on WOT is a bit tricky

Haven't tried the -14.7 setting tho, what effect does this have on anything?

My adaptor has now decided to stop talking to my phone, anyone had similar? Is there likely to have been some update to Torque thats changed some settings etc?

Red power light is on the adaptor, phone just cant find it. I've deleted the pairing in an attempt to 're-pair' and that wont work either!

Finally (on my second adaptor) got this to work.

Does Torque pick up anyone's oil temperature? It doesn't on mine which is a pity as I wanted to set an alarm that notified me when the oil was up to operating temp.

I'm not convinced the mk1 Leon's have an oil temp sensor as standard?

Thread resurrection - in Torque, under the Vehicle Profile section it's possible to set a value for "boost adjustment". It says "usually -14.7, 0 or 14.7 - atmospheric pressure adjustment at sea level).

Anyone played with this? Do I need to set this to something for a mk1 LCR?

I've not, I'm not really sure what we should be using there.
I've altered it to both optional ones and it makes little difference, my boost goes quite high in standard settings. Has anyone got accurate results using the defaults?

Mine's set to 0 and I've never changed it. I saw peak boost hit 1.6 bar last night. My car is not remapped so that sounds a bit on the high side, however I have changed the turbo for a refurbed one recently so I'm trying to work out if Torque is accurate or not. Boost readings (by default) are taken from the MAP sensor so in theory it should be as accurate as it gets...

I adjusted mine because the boost was reading about 28psi on a standard MAP. Should run just under a BAR IIRC?

The only way to really know is to run a boost guage alongside this, And see if they match.
If they do we know the defaults are correct, but I'm not sure what a 278bhp leon should boost at

Known of the Torque app for a while, but didn't get an Android phone until late July, nor my Leon until July so being a stats nerd D) I've just ordered an adapter from Amazon for £20 1st class HERE if anyone is interested/wary of ebay - it's fulfilled by Amazon too so it comes from their warehouse too!

I'll report back when I have it, especially interested in the fault code and boost functions so may well buy the full version of the App if I'm happy with it after a while!

Fair point, it does look pretty slick - been watching some vids on Youtube. Also I'm sure I read somewhere the developer is looking to add Oil readings too which for those of us on Snail power could prove very handy

EDIT: Did a search to find out where the port is on my Leon, and it's behind a panel below the headlight switch - does this just take some force to jimmy it off, or is there a special way to remove it? Just been out to try and take it off but didn't want to try too hard in case I snapped a clip or something. Any tips anyone? Ta!

EDIT 2: My phone has just completely died so it looks like I'll have to wait for it to get repaired by HTC before I witness any live-as-you-drive data, doubt it'll be legal to have a netbook sat on the dashboard!

EDIT 3: Got the adapter this morning / so faffed around with different OBD software included on a CD on my netbook, tried them in the car and they connected and read data! Really wish I'd been able to try Torque though as that seemed so much more well put together than even some of these desktop apps.

Think I tried trials of 3 or 4, but OBD-DIAG is one I am going to try next as that is a pre-designed "Dashboard" style which looks quite tidy. Just had to call it a day earlier than I'd have liked cos of the weather - I kept getting trapped in the car by hail! Not to mention all the windows steamed up

The actual coolant temp takes longer to reach 90 than the display on the dash does, that's normal. You only need to worry if torque coolant temp display never reaches 90ish - does it? If not then you've likely got a duff thermostat.

I thought it wouldn't be completely accurate, I was just surprised at how far out it was - after a 15min or so journey the needle was near as damn-it on 90 yet Torque reported 70C. On the way back however Torque did report 80C when I pulled up at home so I think the cooling system itself is running fine, just the gauge lacks the typical german accuracy
