Got this now and connected it today, worked 1st time and I didn't have any connection problems with HTC wildfire.

For all those TDi owners it does have exhaust temp displays, at 4 sensor points. The software in the App is brilliant, I have got this set now as a display screen for all 4 points on one view. I'll see what happens when driving next.

Could you show exhaust gas temp and perhaps coolant temp in one screen ?

I do miss having coolant temp showing - especially when sitting in traffic.

I Bought the full version today, I didnt think it would be so much better but it really is, EXhaust gass temps, catalyst temps and all sorts of other things. Its got pitch and roll G meter designs, a G meter circle thing like the Wii and Forza 3/4 among many other kool things, You can edit names of items, set alarms (eg, coolant tems- handy for us!) Another fun one is mpg but it shows a picture of a tree- the more green leaves on it the better, and it gives you little catch phrases, cruising back from work and the gfs I went from "mum and dads taxi" to "Sunday Driver" then to "eco warrior" gota love auto I suppose aha :)

Though at one point going into my drive from the gates(say, 2 car lengths max, I went from 0-150 and back to 0 in around 1.4 seconds

Its a great bit of kit and because the adapter and phone can go anywhere and in any car i imagine it will come up very valuble at some point say for a friend with a fault code.

Yes, you can have multiple gauges displayed at the same time. On my phone, setting the dials to the small size, 6 fit on screen at once, with a larger phone screen you may be able to show more.
There are 7 display pages that you can set up how you want. I have a large boost gauge that fills the screen for example then you can flick to the next screen with the exhaust temps. It really is good.

Does anyone know if the OBD unit can be left plugged into the car all the time or is it likely to drain the battery if the car is not used for a few days?

The Cheap Ebay ELM327's can but dont have a power save function so I imagine they will be draining your battery all the time, Ive just took and left the panel it was under off, weight savings aha  But I was reading on the producers forum last night (seems pretty busy!) that the more expensive Scantool.net ones do power save and shut off when the phone disconnects/car engine/electrics are turned off.

I have 3 or 4 dials max because as you say otherwise they get a bit small, I need to make or get a phone holder of some kind, in my last car I could pop the phone between the dash and steering colum and it wouldnt budge, I tried that in the cupra and it fell off on the slightest turn. Bluetak is now a temp solution but I need something bit more permanent. aha
