Having now got an RNS-E fitted, no more Pioneer, I am interested in finding out if anybody knows what the iPod adapter is on the back of the RNS-E? I am assuming that it is the Dension gateway lite 3, but am not certain. I have seen pictures of the Audi interface and it has a mini DIN plug for the iPod cable.

Has anybody here fitted the Dension gateway 300 to their car and know if it works with the factory iPod cradle?

The oem unit just uses the CD auto changer input. The OEM ipod adaptor is pants. All it does it take the first 6 playlists from your ipod and presents them as "CDs"

This. It really is awful. It also locks out the iPod/iPhone so you can't even select your own tracks via the device itself. It's really bad.

The SD slots are the way to go.
