Was told at a recent service that remapp was causing car to over fuel. The evidence was in the fact the "oil had a smell of petrol"
Run car through diagnostics and all came back fine.
Through many phone calls and conversing with many different people I have come to the conclusions that:
no mechanical fault can cause petrol to leak or get into the oil.
If such a fault did occur warning lights or at least a fault would be recognised on diagnostics
over fueling would cause a high engine temperture
pops and bangs out the back
a sluggish drive and unresponsive throttle
OF WHICH I HAD NONE....
so what is causing the smell in the oil...
all my short trips are balance out by a healthy run and regular "stretch her leg drives"
over fuelling...diagnostics say all is fine.
Or could it be...V-power fuel and high octane and additive fuel. I have been told that this fuel can be the cause and most likely is the reason for the smell in most modern cars.
any ideas??
