Do you have to undo the oil feed, unplug the crank sensor then turn it over a few times until it starts comin out, then funnel a touch of oil into the turbo to make sure its got plenty of oil?

After you've dropped the old and added the new.

Taking it your trying to flush the whole system?

Never heard of anyone doing that, think its abit overkill to be honest.

For an oil change, I just drain out the old from the sump, change the filter and re-fill.

You are always going to have "left overs" from the old oil, but it will mix with the new, also the oil in the turbo will mix with the new.

yeah i'm doing the way you said.

My mate said you have to do that with turbo cars and scared me abit, think hes been mixed up with a freshly built engine TBH.

Ah, that explains it then, if it was a fresh build, then yes, preferably you would want oil in the turbo upon the first start to ensure its being lubricated.

As there will be residual oil in the turbo, just change the oil as you would usually.
