Hi guys,

Ive been searching but havent found the answers im looking for!

I had my car serviced recently, and the engine oil my dealers used was Mobil Long Life Super G 5W-30 specification, in my Leon 1.6 16V with 18k on the clock.

I asked for a litre of top up for future and was given "Quantum Synta" 10W-40 specification. I queired this at the time and was given some crap that the dealership was a multifrancise and dealt with different oil types as top up but the machine only pumped out the exact amount of oil into my engine so can't get the Mobil top up I want.

This top up bottle looks like cheap stuff despite being VW Specification so it says!

My question is where can I get hold of the Mobil Long Life Stuff as ive searched and only get specification 0W-40, is this ok to use with my 5W-30 which is in my engine?

Alternatively could I purchase and use Castrol Edge 5W-30 and is it ok to mix the 2 oils or not?

Many thanks guys

all engines take different amounts of oil so unless he types in make model and engine size so that machine knows how much to put in thats crap.
if you cant get mobil i would use another at same spec 5w-30 as that dictates the temp ranges and viscosity of the oil

one is synthetic one isn't but dont know what your car takes would presume the non synthetic extended life due to the long life already in

I specifically asked for fully synth in my vehicle and the dealership told me they dont deal with any other synth oil but fully synth.

Both the above links state they are fully synth so thats why its confusing. I think the main difference is the addivates they have put in the more expensive oil.
