oil filter, which way up?

Well on the filter, it says top or bottom either end, the top bit should be at the top obviously

we just put it in the same way up the old one was. i didnt notice any top/bottom marks on the Seat filter. the old one had the inner plastic colar at the bottom and the large empty inner area at the top.

every filter i've seen says "TOP" on the top.

Some of the aftermarket ones dont. I always check mine before I remove the old one now!
