Hello all,

My Formentor flagged as needing to top up the oil, I got some new oil all ready to do it but when I did the dipstick this was the result.. looks fine to me? But I am not an expert with cars!
Any thoughts or advice?

Maybe add 250ml to bring it a bit further up. I have a 1.5 and tend to keep it towards max as it does burn a little oil over several thousands miles.

Thanks John! I topped it up with a few glugs of oil.

I have a 1.5 as well, had a nightmare at the start as it was using a litre of oil a month.. eventually diagnosed as needing a new engine 🤣

With 0w20s, that's pretty much where it needs to be on a cold engine. Topping up to the "MAX" mark can lead to "oil level over full" error messages on the dash.

Update, it came on again yesterday lunchtime and I filled it to this level (photo attached) and probably driven about 50 miles and oil top up message came on again.. faulty sensor potentially? Going to call garage tomorrow as it’s still in warranty until Jan
