when i start my car up its recently started to do the warning beep but i couldnt see anything on the dash. today i noticed the engine oil light on REALLY faint in orange.

Im going to put some oil in tomorrow but have no idea what has been used previously. any suggestions?

also any reason why its on really faint? should it not be either on full whack or off? ?

cheers

its a 180 cupra by the way.

If you look in the FAQ section in this Mk1 Leon forum you should find a thread which gives correct oil types to use. If your oil level is low then fill it up anyway - regardless of dashboard lights or not you should check the level visually using the dipstick, don't rely on the car to tell you when it needs oil as you could have a faulty sensor.

If the oil level seems ok or if the light doesn't go away after topping up then you'll want to get it checked out by a garage. Is the car running OK?

I have exactly the same thing, previously asked a question bout dimmly lit dash lights? But had no answers.

My OIL light comes on faintly and flashing always on engine start, and goes off after second or 2. But i also have Airbag and Brake wear sensor lit dimmly too?

Not sure if this is a dash fault (The dimmness that is) or wether you can change or replace filaments?

Yeah, engine oils topped up so im thinking its either the reset switch on the bonnet or the sensor.

From what ive read on here im gunna disconnect the battery then if that doesnt work i will change the sensor next week
