I’m assuming that although you’ve had your car for just a month and if you’re the first owner, if it’ll be a year old in July, then it’d been sitting in a dealer showroom or compound since July last year. It’s likely that it was actually built sometime in the second quarter of last year. If so, then it’ll be coming up to a year since it was built - hence the dashboard display indicating the first service is due in under a month’s time (presumably it’s on time and distance servicing - the sooner of 10k miles or 12 months).
The car’s computer will have been counting down the number of days to the first service from the time it rolled off the factory production line, and should have been reset by the dealer as part of the initial pre-delivery inspection, so it looks like they failed to do this.
think there's a bit of confusion, I've had my car since July, was just saying about the OP, 400 miles is silly for a service warning, you'd think the dealer would reset everything when registered?
I never get service intervals, I only do about 3k miles a year as we use the missus's car for local errands etc.. but it's still expected to have a service every year then you get some cars that do high mileage and they can go 2 years between services? barmy!

Oops! Apologies - the two posts I copied into my previous post I thought were by the same forum member - I must remember to wake up fully before posting!
I know that VW recommend annual servicing for low mileage drivers - especially if that low mileage consists of mainly short journeys and frequent cold starts. Long life / flexible servicing is aimed at those drivers doing higher annual mileages.
From VW’s website (assume the same apples to Seat too);
‘Fixed Service (Time and Distance)
We recommend this service if you are likely to drive less than 10,0001miles in a year, and if you tend to drive in the following way:
Mainly city centre driving, short journeys with frequent cold starts
High engine loading activities, e.g. frequent hill climbs, driving with your vehicle fully loaded and towing
Uneconomical driving using high rpms with heavy acceleration and heavy braking.
Flexible Service Regime (LongLife Service)
We recommend this service if you are likely to drive more than 25 miles a day, and if you tend to drive in the following way:
Regular long distance driving
Driving at a constant speed with minimum vehicle and engine loading, and minimal towing
Economical driving
This Flexible regime has been made possible due to the development of new Volkswagen engines with the latest technically advanced longlife oil. I got my Cupra brand new in Sept, got a message pop up the other day to say oil service due in 22 days, it's only covered around 2,100 miles...
I rang SEAT yesterday, guy was a bit vague but he said it wasn't correct as is should be on every 12 months or 9k miles, which ever is first. It appears to be set up for 12 months from the build date of the car (May 19)

Sounds like a lot of incidents of "no PID" or no one bothering to carry out the defined PDI tasks - my daughter's Cupra came with many stored "during initial build" fault codes - and that is not clever either. The service warning timer will start running when the car is initially powered up in the factory and that should get corrected during PDI.
Followed the prices and it worked perfectly on my R ST.
